You may be right, but they said the same thing about the lakers when they got karla malone and Gary Payton.
I'm not sure if you meant to reply to me but I haven't said anything about Harden's importance to the team. I think everyone can agree that he is the best player on the team and the most important piece. We are just having fun with this letter. It's a good PR move but you can't tell me this letter has convinced you that the product on the court will be better. If you weren't convinced before the letter, you shouldn't be after. And if you were convinced before, you should still be.
the letter has nothing to do with the product on the court this year. harden simply thanks the fans and the org and commits to staying at least 3 more years. issues last year were: 1. clueless about both offense and defense coach and coaching staff 2. d12 - chemistry killer didn't want to PnR and defend 3. lack of shooters and those 3 has been addressed so far with the offseason moves and Morey is far from done yet so most people here are optimistic about next year
I really wish people on here would address the entire damn truth. If you're going to say Howard killed the chemistry because he didn't want to run PnR or play defense. Then you have to address Harden's lackluster effort on defense as a chemistry killer too. Not only that he didn't want to run the PnR either.
1) People do address Harden's lackluster defense. In fact...it gets spouted more than any other topic on this entire board. Harden's defense is focused on and criticized far more than Dwight's. 2) Saying Harden doesn't want to run the PnR is laughable.
My beautiful wife essentially raised her then 4 and 8 year old brothers when her scumbag of a father walked out on them in the middle of the night, leaving an unskilled, non-English speaking mother. It is through sheer perseverance that they succeed in life despite great obstacles. She lead them by NEVER looking back, NEVER dwelling on a past that can't be unchanged, ALWAYS looking for a better future. That's the approach our players and fans out to be. What happened last year is water under the bridge. That's the approach I see Harden taking, starting with a longer term commitment to this city. If you need to vent, go at it, but just know it is an exercise in futility.
Ran the pick and roll with Beas pretty well. Does anyone even remember what a Dwight pick looks like? Let me just stick my elbow out a bit and jog back to a post up position. Dwight hates the pick and roll so much he's been posting jump shooting vids to show the "expansion" of his game. I thought he was scared to death of missing.
He always does them in practice. He used to practice three point shooting as well. He shoots a pretty high free throw percentage in practice too. When the game starts and he's on offense he's afraid of his own shadow but somehow that's Harden's fault, lol. No one in their right mind would think Morey is out of line for saying "Listen you're clearly uncomfortable offensively, lets run pick and rolls to get you some easy dunks" Dwight's reaction? "Why do you hate me?", lol.
Harden hasn't had the benefit of playing with another All-Star since he got here. Dwight was never really an All-Star despite being granted that position in the first season he never really played the full impact of an all-star. The Rockets need to get Harden a number 2 guy. Until then talking about Championships is totally unnecessary. Let's just hope we compete next year that's what I want to. If we make the playoffs I'm happy and if we get to the second round I'm even happier. 42-52 Wins is all I expect from this team next year.
The commitment was real. Harden delivered... if you're going to the game, thank him as loudly as you possibly can.
