You didn't even read what you just posted, did you? Corporate versus personal taxes? For the third time, Donald Trump, U.S. is not 'highest taxed nation in the world' Does the U.S. have the highest corporate tax rate in the free world?
You realize those were two different statements right? One was about the corporate tax rate and Trump's was about the overall level of taxation (so personal income, corporate income, sales tax, state income, FICA, property tax, etc..) The US does have a high corporate tax rate (although we have a littany of tax deductions and exemptions that ensure that no company actually pays the true rate) but our taxation is definitely not the highest. Go talk to the Scandinavians about high taxation. Ours is nothing in comparison.
Politifact is not an unbiased entity. They're a project of the tampa bay times, a paper that has endorsed Hillary Clinton. Just accepting the media "fact checking" politicians is a huge mistake that's ripe for misinformation. Look at Romney's "lie of the year" politifact attacked him for about jeep moving their factories to China. He was right and after the election Jeep did move some production to China.
They admit Trump was speaking about business taxes when they took this quote but still proceed give out completely different facts and statistics. In Leonard Lances's article politifact concludes: "So the United States has the highest corporate tax rate in the world in terms of statutory rates." In Trump's article politifact concludes: "By all metrics we looked at, the United States is far from the most taxed nation overall and for businesses." Politifact is the worst.
To be clear, what politifact said is that the first quote was "mostly true" basically because he said "tax rate." The rates on the book are the highest, but they only gave him a mostly true because the rates don't actually work out that way. On Trump they said false because he said "highest taxed." We are not the highest taxed regardless of what the actual rate may be.
It seems like what you struggle with is nuance. The fact that the graphic seems to imply that Fiorina was right when she said Obamacare helped no one discredits the whole graphic. No one? Seriously?
