I'm not backtracking at all, I said "If the bra fits" meaning anyone you want to accuse that definition of fitting is fine so long as they fit the description. I don't care if you want to accuse MLK or your mom, that's up to you. Again, the whole reason you have a problem with what I said is because most likely it applies to you and you don't want to see yourself as a racist especially if your racism is socially acceptable at the moment. Any racist that I said it to would have the same problem regardless of their skin color.....and that's sort of the beauty of it.
I'm not upset about it, I'm shocked you would go that far to make your point. There are much better ways of defending a "I think Black Pride has gone too far" point. If you even look at the definitions of racism: the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior You'd realize that saying you are proud of your black skin is not saying that all black people possess characteristics specific to that race, and that black pride, as several have already mentioned, is not saying that black people believe their race is superior. You should sit down with black pride groups and have some long talks with them, you'd be enlightened.
It's very simple bobby. Do you believe that anyone who has 'pride' in their race is a racist *******? We know the answer to that is 'yes' as you have explicitly stated so. Did MLK state that he was a proud black person? Yes. He did say that. So any rational individual would believe that you believe that MLK is a racist *******. Is there something in that logic that I'm not comprehending? Any conservative posters who agree with bobby can elaborate?
I have a problem with what you said because you have a very limited understanding of what racism is, you act as if context has no bearing on it, and you use extreme examples to make your point that would shock nearly anyone. But power to you if you feel otherwise. Good day.
I must had skipped a few episodes of this thing..but I'm quite frankly surprised how a guy who abandoned his roots became all the sudden the new MLK of Blacks, I am not saying you are on the wrong side of this argument but you are the wrong person to carry this mission .
That wasn't "going far" and I wasn't talking about any group or version of racism in particular. Again, a different type of racist might have thought I was talking about their version or racism. If a "white pride" racist were reading it, they would probably assume that's who I was talking about. Again, it's your conscience that calls you out here, not me. You basically responded to the text version of a Rorschach painting. You saw what you wanted to see, assumed it was calling you out, and then you attacked the painter. It was always just an abstract description that fits no matter what type of racist you are. It wasn't a comment on "black pride" or "white pride" or "brown pride" or a comment specifically about any other type of pride based on skin color. They are all the same thing. No one should feel pride or shame or any other strong emotion about their skin color.
Not sure why you guys continue to engage bobbythesociopath in anything more than offering derision and ridicule for his complete lack of self-awareness, general ass-holism, and complete disregard for most humankind (other than his own opinion).
White pride is a motto primarily used by white separatist, white nationalist, neo-Nazi and white supremacist organizations to signal their racist or racialist viewpoints. (from wikipedia). So by that token Bobby is saying MLK - who said he was proud to be black - is a racist. When you say MLK was racist for being proud to be black just like white supremacists are proud to be white. One has to wonder what is going on inside.
I always understood "black pride" as primarily pride in one's cultural heritage (we can argue whether this makes sense or not, but it isn't any more racist than someone being proud when they hear their National Anthem). Beyond that, it is a rejection of an attitude that one should be ashamed of their black features and try to hide it to feel more accepted by others. I think that's what MLK, Colin Powell, or any other black person means when they talk about being "proud to be black". Misconstruing that as a racist sentiment is simply missing the point, IMO.
According to the formula Bobby has posted in this thread, not only are MLK, Collin Powell, Denzel Washington, and James Brown racist a-holes, their opinion on any other matter is also worthless.
Comon Bobbythemommasbasementdwellingdork. You have an answer for everything else, but no answer for this? Does the truth hurt?
White hating, cop hating traitors occupy the Whitehouse <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">This will end <a href="https://t.co/INAtMwoTMk">pic.twitter.com/INAtMwoTMk</a></p>— Jared Wyand (@JaredWyand) <a href="https://twitter.com/JaredWyand/status/752237872145719296">July 10, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
I never said anyone in particular is racist, I just described racists in the abstract. As to "what is going on" when you claim that one group is racist for "pride" based on the color of their skin and that another group is racist for "pride" based on the color of their skin....what's going on is logical consistency. I think it's possible that some said they were "proud" of their skin color, but their intention wasn't that they were actually "proud" of it, instead they were saying they weren't "ashamed" and just saying so in a manner that didn't describe their actual intentions. That said, if they really did mean they were "proud" based on their skin color, then they are/were a racist. It doesn't matter who they were. The fact that some people think there is a difference based solely on the color of their skin that they are "proud" of shows that maybe they are the one with the problem. Of course, due to the fact that some types of racism is socially acceptable, I know there will be push back on this subject. Those who are socially acceptable racists won't want to be lumped in with those who are socially unacceptable racists even if they are fundamentally the same.
Sorry kiddo, I didn't feel I needed to acknowledge your attention whoring. Peddle your wares elsewhere.
You said anyone who is proud of their skin color is a racist. So by your logic, MLK is a racist. Now you want to figure out a way to walk back from that. Why don't you man up and admit you were wrong?
Saying "I'm proud to be black" essentially implies "I'm not ashamed to be black", but it does so in a more positive, assertive way. "I'm not ashamed to be black" is kind of a meek way of putting it. The whole point is to lift up black people so that they can feel like equals in a society where they have been historically put down. Anyone who's using the term "black pride" out of a belief that they are superior to someone else and to lift themselves above others of another race is, OF COURSE, being racist. If we can agree on that, at least, then some progress has been made.
lol the racism that was implied earlier has caused the racists to fall into the trap of showing their true colors!
The cops were white weren't they? Isn't it fitting that they keep the White House...white? <---this is a sarcastic smiley
