I think the Spurs and Clippers are still in it with Cleveland. Styles make fights. I want to see how the Warriors match up with Spurs front line. We saw the trouble they had with Thunder bigs an the spurs bigs are even more skilled.

To borrow Barkley's quote when he joined the Rockets:
"They are going to double Hakeem. They are going to double Clyde. And they are going to double me. That's 6 guys."

The way we played defense, we might need 7 guys on the floor.

Rockets are one BIG trade away from true championship contention. And I'm not talking about Rudy Gay.

The only way we could be a contender is if we had amazing defense. Which we do not.

Plus it isn't likely for 3 players who are injured a lot to all have healthy seasons.

Say Curry or Durant go down with a season ending injury.

Who is your next team in the West besides the Spurs?

On paper, I can see how nobody, including the Spurs, could hang with them in a best of 4-series. Indeed, barring catastrophic injuries, I expect them to go to the finals for the next 5 years.

Still, I do believe the Rockets are better this year. D12 was a chemistry killer last year, so just by excluding him, we will improve.

In sum, I think we will surprise the NBA, just not enough to beat the Warriors.

there are 240 available minutes in a normal NBA game. If you divide that by 7 you get 34.2 so unless I'm missing something you are correct. 7 players can get starters minutes. Having said that I think the Rockets will use a 9 man rotation with spot minutes for a couple of other players.

When have the Clippers ever been in it? They implode every season. Until they make at least 1 WCF there is nothing to discuss with them.

I voted yes... Of course there are at least 5 Teams clearly better than uns. And of course there are 1-2 Teams who basically Play in a whole other League.

That being Said if, if everything goes right for us And some things go wrong for other Teams, we could win a Championship... Very slim Chance, but basically we are one of maybe 10 teams that have a Chance to win it all.

What so I think will Happen? We maybe fight for the 4th Spot in the West. Surviving the First round would be a Big success...

Keep in mind that Gordon and Anderson as well as Nene will spend 1/3 of the year on the IR.

By that standard, this is probably right. If that group was a defensive cohesive unit - it could be a threat to cause some noise and shock some people. But they would need to be the kind of D that the Cavs play to get past GS. You can't outshoot GS, you have to outphysical them

not even close. we dont have a 2nd ball handler after james. nene's our 2nd best play maker.
even if we get a decent backup pg, not a contender, but def a 2nd round team at leasty.

This is what each of these players played per game last year:

    Harden 38
    Ariza 35
    Gordon 33
    Anderson 30
    Beverly 29
    Brewer 20
    Capella 19
    Nene 19
    Beasley 18
    D-Mo 15

That's 10 players, and it comes out to 237 minutes. Remove Brewer and disperse his minutes through the bottom 4 players and ...voilĂ ! Though I seriously doubt this is the final roster. And this is all just theoretical BS.
