Even with Nene, we still need another proven big who can play PF/C. If it's not DMO then we'd need to sign someone to replace him.

Thanks Carl, i think there're at least 3 or 4 of those teams potentially interested in D.Mo...

Dmo would fit well in Minnesota. Him and KAT together would be great to see. A couple if teams like philly have not spent enough money so he may get a huge offer this week.

That could work. KAT could make up for DMo's defensive deficiencies.

Yeah but Ryan Anderson has years of proof that he is actually a good NBA player... D-Mo has had like a stretch of a month with consistently good play.

Ryan Anderson has years of proof he can be a 3 point specialist and not a lot more. Even if Ryan Anderson stays healthy, there's no chance he's a 2 way player. DMo has shown to be able to add things to both sides of the court.

It's to each their own though.

I fear that rockets are going to let DMO go to another team which appreciates his value, and trusts in his abilities, and DMO becomes a BEAST. Few years later, Morey will try and get him back. Just as we did with patterson, lowery, and others.

Why developed a player if you are not willing to trust in him and PAY HIM the money he deserves. Investing heavily only on superstars, and surroundong them with ROLE-PLAYERS who are "cap friendly," is why Morey has yet to win a championship IMHO.

D-Mo has not done anything consistently enough to show he deserves that sort of money. If he had stayed healthy or bounced back strong, that would be a different story. D-Mo on the other hand has only not sucked in one season. We won't count his last one since he was rehabbing.

Ryan Anderson is a better offensive player all around than DMO and that's not a knock on Dmo it's just the facts. He also a better rebounder which is saying something because anderson is nothing you right home about on the boards.

Dmo is a nice passer I prb like that part of his game more than any other including his post moves. But to say anderson is only a 3pt specialist in order to prop up a guy who has only played 70 meaningful games in 4 years says a lot about fandom for this one player.

Dmo did not look good last year coming back from the surgery which is always worriesm. He's also not been offered a contract by anyone yet and had mentioned in the last two weeks that his back is still not right even tho the surgery was over a year ago. It's safe to say his value if pretty low around the league right now. Can he go it there and prove that he's a solid rotaion level big? Absolutely but he's going to have to stay on the court first.

I wouldn't worry to much he'll prb be back in Houston on a 2yr 15 million dollar deal with a team option for the 2nd year. But if he is back he won't be starting over Anderson because he's never shown to be a better player point blank.

Nature of the business especially when players are viewed as assets.

Detroit pulling back on that trade was very telling. Now dude can't get contract offer. We got to give the Rockets some credit here because they tried to help him out by playing him once he came back. Unfortunately it didn't work out for the young fella because his play was very inconsistent. Maybe the back was still giving him some problems. But it was very clear that he wasn't the same player anymore. He showed some flashes though.

Hey folks, he is a RFA - that teams know the Rockets more than likely will match.

He will be the starting PF here in Houston - and either it will be a 1+1 or a QO deal where he can be an UFA next year when the cap goes up again and he has a chance to be healthy all year shutting up the haters.

Here is the thing, most really smart fans look deeper at the ROLE they are playing and whether that particular ROLE is easily replaceable.

Parsons - we let go and still have not replaced the role he played - not so easy to replace a skilled SF that can also create and help take the burden off of Harden.

DMo - his role is a low post scorer that can also stretch the floor and create - if DMo leaves, who has his post game?

So, see, every time you remove a UNIQUE skillset you get weaker as a team - that has been Morey's biggest problem in looking only at numbers but NOT at fit, or chemistry.

DMo's post game is a HUGE weapon which we missed drastically last year with him out so much, put too much of a burden on Harden and we went 41-41.

Sometimes the RIGHT role player is the difference in many games a year, that is DMo...if healthy.

If he leaves it takes a significant option off of our team.

    DD

They might start together with Capela off the bench.

I could see that, but there's no way they bench Anderson after paying him 20 mil a year.
