(yes, some of these are probably a stretch, but some are eerily similar too)

Ok so you are comparing a leader in the Black Panther Party who after she left joined the Black Liberation Army and was deemed a criminal by the FBI and thus became a fugitive and who killed a cop as a fugitive during a traffic stop to a racist and Dylan Roof???

I understand your point about using the quote of someone who killed a cop. That's actually a fair point - and perhaps you should write them and let them know your displeasure (in a nice way). But she's not Dylan Roof. Let's not create false analogies here.

While in the hours after the Thursday night shooting, several people were detained and identified as possible suspects, on Friday officials said they determined that Johnson had acted alone.

"We believe, given the facts that we have today that Mr. Johnson, now deceased, was the lone shooter in this incident," Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said.

He said initial reports of at least two shooters were a result of the confusion in the initial moments after the shooting, as well as Johnson's training in how to move around while shooting.

"This was a mobile shooter that had written manifestos on how to shoot and move, shoot and move," Rawlings said. "And he did that. He did his damage. But we did our damage to him as well."

"And we believe now that the city is safe."

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said at a news conference Friday in New York City that the gunman doesn't appear to have had any known "links to or inspiration from any international terrorist organization."

 

Well I don't think they are comparable. One went out to eliminate people for the color of their skin. Another killed to escape imprisonment in a system she felt was oppressive and unjust. That doesn't mean she should be punished for her crime - she should. But it doesn't put her in the same league as that monster either.

 

It's also questionable whether she actually killed a cop

fwiw: sounds like the confusion of multiple shooters was due to the sniper shots echoing through the downtown buildings.
