I like Ariza more and we don't have to waste the trade assets on what is already the deepest position on the team.

Need a PG. I'd look at Jack.

"Deep" would imply there are actually startable small forwards on the roster. There's Ariza (barely) and that's it.

Nope. There's Ariza/Beasley/KJ. And Brewer & Dekker who probably will have to be dealt. There's no reason why SF should be looked at as the #1 upgrade on this team.

Lawson wouldn't be a bad option again. Remember this dude was a borderline all star who can run a offense and shoot. Would take him on a 2yr $6m. Vasquez is similar, can shoot and run an offense. Tory Daniels is a good option too since we could use shooting.

In denial of what? Ariza is the best defender on the team, Beasley is the best scorer on the bench and KJ has played well when given a chance. That is the definition of deep.

Ariza = Defense has regressed, can't dribble.

KJ = Useless scrub. Good athlete, needs a lot of work.

Beasley = Not a small forward.

I'd take a shot at Jack on a 2 year contract, second year team option. I like his character and I can see him sharpening that 3pt shot. He's not going to be as quick as he used to be but if he can hit open 3's, play some defense and be a floor general then he'd be a good rotation guy.

I would definitely take a shot at Lawson again. I think he would succeed. I think he was just having a bad year physically and a tough time dealing with off the court stuff. At this point I would sign him anyway because it looks like it will be for the minimum.

Maybe we sign both these guys and just let them compete with Beverley and Gordon for minutes.

Now I know why we've been holding off signing other FAs with that cap room. So now that we're capped out, when is the DMo signing? And when do we see some trades go down to fill some of the other roster needs?

If we keep Bev for his PG defense how about we take a chance on Jimmer Fredette for his PG offense? He would be a really cheap pick up. I remember Morey was a big fan of his in college. He's tearing up the Summer League right now. 19 points at halftime. 7-10 shooting, 4-6 3pt. Moving his feet well on defense as well.

I guess it's time to lock this up or move it to the NBA dish.

I've wanted the Rockets to give a him a prove it contract for the year. He also played well in NBA Development League last year. I mean if worst comes to worst, his wife is gorgeous.

We still need to get big. Like Bima mentioned, we need another vet guard like Jet. And, we need yet another guy who can drop 15-20 on a given night.

Dwight had a terrible year, but I don't think some people are ready to see what minimal rim protection and loose rebounding looks like. There are guys available, a newbie on the radar for the league, but I know I'll miss some dominant rebounding or, in the least, shots that are changed just by the presence of a guy like Dwight. (Or, good ol Dream and Deke for that matter)

DMo's going to always be a good offensive player, but at this point, he's not a strong rebounder. For his size, you would expect a bit more, and luckily he has the time and skill to improve, but grabbing boards isn't his style. He's definitely more on the finesse side. We need a Bismack-type who just wants to eat rebounds. IMO, Montrezl isn't that guy either. Unfortunately, his behavior has disappointed me, and with such great gaps in his overall game, his maturity ought to be stronger.

Clint Capela is going to be a good center, but he's not scaring anyone yet (offensively especially) and those hands are still losing the rookie/soph butterfingers. I hope he's working on finishing techniques this summer. I will never forgive the idiocy of Stromile Swift's stone hands every. damn. time. we threw the ball to him in the post. Aside from Kwame Brown and Hasheem Thabeet (omg), I haven't seen hands nearly as bad as Stro's. /end rant

    And like SPECTRE....Codman strikes.

"A newbie on the radar for the league." Let someone decode these riddles.

The roster certainly isn't done but who's our "get"? We did keep James Harden which ate up the available cap space, so I'm hoping/assuming it wasn't so badly needed. It almost makes me wonder if they have some move lined up.

You seemed to mention Sweet Lou last time around with a couple of pipe dream bigs and various "Birds" (Millsap? Norris Cole? Hinrich? Etc.)?

After re-negotiating Harden's deal, the Rockets don't really have any cap space-- other than the $5.7M or so used on DMo's qualifying offer. There really isn't much quality left on the market, especially ones willing to take small $.

Among bigs the options seem to be the likes of David Lee, Mile Plumlee and Tyler Zeller. Plumlee can block some shots.
