Hey wise ass! Up here in North Texas nearly every weekend you have a bunch of white guys walking around with rifles in front of mosques and shopping centers screaming about their right to open carry. This guy was the brother of one of the organizers and was seen marching with demonstrators at the time the shots started. Now, I see this type of thing all the time up here only it's been white gun nuts screaming about the second amendment. As for this fellow, his brother saw the tweet by DPD that said: "Help us find this suspect". His brother then took his rifle and turned it into a policeman while his brother left, took his shirt off, called his lawyer and turned himself in to the police. He has since been cleared and released. He picked a poor time to be "open carrying while black". He had every right to be upset after being labeled a suspect and having his picture splattered all over the media. In defense of the DPD however, there was absolute chaos last night DT and they were going after any black male who looked suspicious. By suspicious I mean tats, dreads, camouflage and the like. There was one guy who showed up at the demonstration wearing a bulletproof vest and a gas mask sitting at a coffee shop when about 12 police officers saw him, pointed guns (and rifles) at him and took him down on live TV. There was another report of a "suspicious" black male throwing a camouflage backpack into a Mercedes Benz and speeding off. He was stopped on the freeway by a DPD helicopter along with 5 patrol cars, forced to lie on the ground at gunpoint. He was super pissed as he is a veteran who served 3 tours in Iraq and who was picking up his brother that had come up on for his birthday. There was no camouflage backpack to be found in his Mercedes Benz. As for myself, I took off today in order to lay low as the police are understandably extra jittery. I'm also picking up my son from college in order to keep him off the buses. Dallas is full of East Texas rednecks and I'm expecting some sort of retaliation against black males. After all, this is Texas, the crazies are everywhere and they have military-grade weaponry.
The are not mutually exclusive. There are absolutely people that don't like BLM simply because it involves black people. I have never supported Trump or Cruz or other race baiters. It is also why the Tea Party movement was rightfully criticized. There were a lot of overt racism present among their members.
[Premium Post] After so many violent protests and a pattern of consistent disrespect for law enforcement, a hostile atmosphere towards the police has been created by the Black Lives Matter "movement". Unfortunately, Obama's irresponsible words yesterday from Poland only added fuel to the fire. With 5 police officers dead, is it time to brand Black Lives Matter as a terrorist organization? There is no question that they do far more harm than good, and quite honestly, it's not in black people's best interest for them to be inciting violence and disrespecting law enforcement. The intended effect is clearly not happening, and frankly, it's having the opposite of their intended effect.
One thing that truly cuts across color - the stupidity of open carry idiots with their AR-15's & assault rifles. here are the places to not to openly carry an AR-15, or anything really: 1. Wal Mart 2. Political Protest 3. Anywhere else, other than maybe a shooting range.
Where ever he did MOUT training did a great job. The way he slipped and used cover is really scary. It's time for the politicians and the media to tone down their rhetoric unless they want to set off more crazies. Stop using race relations as a lever to get voter turnout.
I don't have time for more research at the moment, but I have no reason to think you are a liar so I take your post as truthful. I did already agree that many of their events are full of hatred.
You're for violating a man's second amendment rights? This is Texas. We can open carry long rifles legally. He even handed his weapon to Police so they could use it to defend themselves.
Leaders of Black Lives Matter condemn violence in Dallas Jul. 8, 2016 10:42 AM EDT DALLAS (AP) — Leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement are condemning the slayings of police in Dallas during a protest over fatal police shootings of black men in Louisiana and Minnesota. Shaun King is a blogger who rose to prominence following the 2014 fatal police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. He says on Twitter that he hates police brutality but doesn't hate police. He says: "This violence is wrong on every level." Center for Media Justice director Malkia Cyril says her "heart hurts for the dead." Cyril and King also defended the Black Lives Matter movement. She writes that it "advocates dignity, justice and freedom, not the murder of cops." King says anyone blaming Black Lives Matter "is sick." He says protesters were peaceful and the shootings "terrorized them too." http://bigstory.ap.org/dae6c38b396f400b93d0ccf0c4289b10
For sure that guy did things the right way as to that window licker wanting to violate his 2nd amendment rights.....well yeah, he's a Trump supporter. Trump is no fan of the 2nd amendment and has called for assault weapon bans in the past. I didn't have any problem with the guy carrying his AR responsibly and I think he should be commended for handing things correctly. Does it suck that he became a suspect? Sure, but when people see you with a gun at the scene of an active shooting, people are going to think that.

You don't know a damn thing about how the media works. If ethnicity doesn't come out it means he is black and this incident was just another example
