Not really. Remember when all those Cops died in LA with those guys in full bullet proof vest and full auto weapons? 50 people died less than a month ago and you this this blip will be a turning point? Maybe to Cops.
White teenager shoots up a a pre-school and kills 30 people including babies=mental health issue White teenager shoots up a church and kills 9 black people=mental health issue White cops kill black people=they either did something to deserve it or "some bad apples" Black person kills cops=hold the race accountable. The movement is a cesspool of violence and hatred.
^^^ Video appears to show Dallas gunman shooting officer at close range You might need to be logged in to your facebook to see this here image, but... Sad stuff.
I think the fact that you stayed quiet this week on the killing of black men but the day an officer gets killed you say ALL LIVES MATTER. But people maybe reading too much into what you wrote. I mean you are right as all lives matter and at least you arent ignoring the black men by simply saying blue lives matter
Everyone has a freaking Job like police officers have one. After their shift, they go home to a family like we all do. Seriously, f**k these sensitive selfish people that want to take it out on a religion or an occupation. Grow up and go see a counselor or something
An incredibly sad week for this country. None of this has to be viewed through a binary lens. It does not have to confirm or deny your preexisting political beliefs. To shoehorn it into your preferred narrative is craven. What it should do is make you hurt as a human being and an American. Innocent people have lost their lives this week in violent, highly-publicized ways. It should make you feel like something in this country is deeply, deeply broken. We can't keep digging our heels into our corners and screaming at one another. The violent chasm between us exists because we reject empathy and it will continue to churn until we say "Enough" and try to understand one another instead of trying to live in spite of our fellow Americans.
ALL of the killings are HORRIFIC!! Not just black lives who are murdered by cops, but the black individuals who are also murdered by other black people. I value life, and when anyone of ANY race has their life taken away it sickens me. I don't know what the solution is, but killing other innocent people is NOT the answer.
Agreed. I find it repugnant that our culture as expressed through internet forums and facebook and twitter seems to think you are either "Pro Police" or "Pro Black People." It is absolutely ridiculous to think that you can't have respect and love for police officers and admiration for the work they do while still wanting them held to the highest standards and advocating reform. It is equally ridiculous to think that you can't support black people in their call for police reform and societal change while still being appalled at the "few bad apples" among them who resort to violence, hatred, etc.
I think the point people are making is that you (i'm guessing) were not posting rhetoric like this in the threads about different black guys getting shot by police. In that sense, you don't treat the value of all lives equal with black lives since this surge of emotion is in a thread after an attack on police.
First of all I was talking about the expression. "Black Lives Matter" is a response to the idea that blacks feel their lives are seen as worth less by police/whites. That it's more tolerated if a black person is killed than a white person. So it actually is the same meaning as "All Lives Matter" but it is making a different point. That point is that black lives should not matter less than anyone elses. As for BLM the organization - they have positive things about them and negative things about them. Were they right about Michael Brown? I don't think so. But that was a while ago and in their early stages. It's more important to focus on the cases they are addressing now. And realize that the people in those organizations see things through a lens, just as you see something through a lens. Usually the truth lies somewhere inbetween - and is very hard to see. But don't act like you have a better bead on the truth than BLM - I see the same but opposite bias in your posts. Hate crime yes. The FBI is already involved. It is really sad and frustrating - especially for blacks I imagine - to have this kind of bias. A race should get this kind of treatment - they are not a political group. It is bias. The last few days have been horrible. The people who demonize or attack the "other side" are a big part of the problem. We need to end this culture of cops vs. blacks and everything that contributes to it.
