The video after that about how working out is only a supplement and won't make up for bad eating habbits is way better.

Why does it seem like black people, particularly black men, are put on trial in the court of public opinion after THEY get shot and die?

Because in cases where it's someone other than black people, particularly black men who get shot by police it's not a national story even though that's the vast majority of people shot by police so there's no conversation about it at all. Also, in a lot of these cases, it's really bad people resisting arrest or attacking police so that becomes relevant and muddies the water for situations like this particular shooting where it seems like it was absolutely a crime.

After all of the Micheal Brown type cases, people just assume it's another one of those situations where there is public outcry that is entirely ignorant. It's really unfair to people like Philando Castile who did nothing wrong.

You can think that all you like, but it's the correct answer even if you were trying to push a different narrative.

I don't think it's that there is a "man" is out to get them mentality. It's that there is bias against them which is real. Being angry that people are biased against you for the color of your skin doesn't make you a victim or mean you have a victim mentality - it just means you want to be treated like everyone else. And I think that's very fair to seek out.

It's crazy that you call people who want to be treated properly by police as having a victim mentality. Better policing is something this country needs, it benefits everyone.

What's crazy is that in the vast majority of instances people find out that they WERE properly treated by the police, and still those same people continue with their nonsense.

Look at all the damage done as a result of the Micheal Brown case and that was an instance of someone being treated properly by police.....but the victim mentality of some couldn't accept that.

I'm all for better policing, but that's not what the vast majority of these cases are truly about.

Database with filter from last year for reported incidents where a police officer killed a civilian:

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/police-shootings/

A few observations based on incidents last year of police officers killing civilians (filtering out cases where civilian was identified with a mental illness):

    • Attack in progress with deadly weapon: 49% white and 28% black (491 total incidents)
    • No attack in progress: 38% white and 30% black (178 incidents)
    • No attack in progress and unarmed: 37% white and 35% black (49 total incidents)

What I notice here is that the less justifiable the circumstance for killing the civilian would apparently be, the more likely the civilian was black rather than white.

So in every scenario the civilian shot by police is more likely to be white than black....I wonder what it would look like if they broke down the demographics of those incidents that resulted in widespread national news coverage.

Not all cases are properly conducted. And in many instances the police are found guilty or fired. It's well documented there is a police bias against blacks and that racism is part of many department's culture. That's the reality.

There is a bias, and it appears to at least in some situations lead to death.

"I didn't mean to kill him" <-- a statement that has never helped any suspect except Cops . . it seems

Intentions don't matter . . .except for the exceptions (read privileged)

The vast majority are cases where people believe that there is bias even when there is no evidence of it. Especially when it comes to national cases. The thought that anything bad that happens is due to racism is not the thought of a rational, healthy person.

The problem is. . . To buy that better future . . . one group of people seem to be overwhelmingly paying the cost . . .in death . . . blood . . pain . . and tears

The better justice/legal system will be sitting on top of how many black graves?

The cop . . .his rep . . .his lawyer. . .and probably several outside lawyers and media manipulators will come up with his 'side of things' . . . after they go
through all the evidence and can analyze it and explain it all away

If anyone else shot a person . . their statement would be taken ASAP
with maybe their lawyer. . .. sometimes they deny you access to those
    other . .. poverty does. . .
