If you never read any of the books and never read this thread, who would you think Jon's father is supposed to be?
If I only casually watched the show and nothing else, I probably would have no idea. I'm guessing that at the beginning of next season, they will go more into who Rhaegar was and possibly even show him in a flashback. It's hard for an audience to remember a character who is mentioned only by name a few times in previous seasons.
It's not very clear. A friend of mine was guessing Mad King...but she was genuinely just guessing names she knew. She was clear it wasn't Ned and Robert. She also wasn't far enough in her thinking to consider the ramifications of brother/nephew to Dany. Didn't seem to be big topic for her from that episode, whereas on this site, people exploded with the reveal. She also didn't know it was called Tower of Joy. Does the show even mention it? I tell people to re-watch both of Bran's visions of ToJ and see if they can figure it out. So far they'll say, "just tell me" like it's bothersome or not a big deal.
In a conversation on the Kingsroad in Season 1... maybe episode 2.. Robert angrily talks to Ned about Rhaegar Targaryan and "what he did to your sister". Robert thought he kidnapped and raped her, basically. Or at least, that's what he chose to believe.
i knew something like this would happen. as long as they don't go Brit on us and make us wait 3 years for 4 episodes.
For those crying about the way Layanna Stark looked half dead, check her out now. https://www.yahoo.com/news/lyanna-stark-completely-unrecognizable-real-184059420.html
Shes a good looking women but the books and show hyped up Lyanna's beauty. I was honestly expecting more.
