Doesn't really matter, except to note what they are mad at, and how that might impact the election. This would indicate that they might not vote for Hillary, which, whether they vote for Trump instead or not, is not good news for Hillary.

Wow, what a blatantly ignorant post. Most every big company in the world provides their employees who need it access to their systems securely through a VPN connection that can be accessed through any internet connection. I admit the government is pretty incompetent but I am quite sure they have this ability for a Cabinet member.

I thought her complaints were that the State Dept. servers were slow and ****ty, which echoed the complaints of the previous admin that also hosted their servers and deleted their emails?

Any links to her actual complaints made at the time and how the gov servers really were?

Even w/o that excuse, there's other theories that she used her own servers to circumvent the FOIA, a practice that had been done before by other officials. The big surprise here has been the actual mundane content of her own emails...

Many businesses allow access to email from any devices. VPN is not required and a company computer isn't required, although likely recommended by IT (not surprising since they are typically slow to adopt to consumer trend).

Many people do not like company provided devices and uses their own personal devices for both work and personal activities. This has been a trend since 2009 and has it's own term - BYOD (bring your own device). Large corporation like Intel, HP and others allow such policy seeing how popular the trend was.

Many businesses has started with or switched over to office365 (their slogan - Office when and where you need it - Work anywhere, anytime, on any device. Office 365 is ready when you are). HP Inc is one recent example of a complete switch over to office 365. VPN is not required to access email and data (confidential content on sharepoint for example).

I'm not even sure what all the points about email access is - but it's not a blatantly ignorant post.

Bring Your Own PC has been a trend, mainly as a cost cutting move. The degree of support for the devices was reduced, because it isn't their device anymore.

What IS relevant about this is clearly there are ways to allow such to happen while still maintaining security.

Yes, it mostly was. You don't get your own entire email system just to be able to check email wherever you want when doing so explicitly violates security. Notice that there was no answer to my question about where Hillary was traveling to where there wouldn't be a State Department office. Anywhere she traveled to she was going to be able to access email. Plus I am fairly sure that there were ways to access email remotely. Recall that Hillary's stance was that she didn't want to carry multiple phones, not that she couldn't access email at all remotely.

Already hearing cases where this decision is being used as a precedent. The big difference between them is they involve current government employees, and the sanctions were job removal and not prosecution. But, this still sets a very bad precedent. How can you fire someone for mishandling 1 email, when you decided that 110, and a demonstration of extreme carelessness, was not worth prosecuting? Our legal system is based on precedent, and this is a bad one.

I like how we're all pretending there was no intent

Prosecutorial discretion does not carry binding precedent, only the decisions of a court superior to the court hearing a case are binding precedent.

We've had BYOD policies at the last two companies I've worked at. Both require the installation of secure encryption technology to be able to have security access to connect to Office365/email, etc.

Sanders is endorsing Clinton next week. More than 80% of his supporters will vote for Hillary. Eight years from now the loudest, nuttiest holdouts will still be on Reddit waiting for Guccifer 76.3's game-changing revelations, hoping for a Clinton impeachment, and over-cooking their chicken tenders.

Nobody's intent is to get you to vote fro Trump. Peoples' intent is to acknowledge the justice system is corrupt and that Clinton is above the law. Especially in this instance.
