DMo is an interesting case. Does a team actually take the chance on him and sign him to that big of a contract? If they do, I can't see anyone giving him more than 2 years but I have been shocked before. If a 12 mil per for 2 years, I don't see the Rockets balking. If it is 3 years or more and 10+ mil per then the Rockets will probably bow out.

I can see DMo agreeing to a 2 year deal at about 8 mil per with the Rockets when all is said and done just because of the riskiness in signing him given that the Pistons so publicly diminished his value. Maybe a player option for the 2nd year? I don't know how this will play out but Morey has done well with RFA's in the past, Landry, Scola, Lowry so maybe he can get a good value contract for DMo as I think he can bounce back and become productive again at some point next season like Dwight did a year after his back surgery.

Is there any sort of scoop or inside info on what type of contract DM is seeking?

Any indication of interest from other teams?

LOL at people thinking Nene make DMO expendable. Nene, a likely end of the bench rotation player, will have no role in the decision to keep dmo or not

I wonder if DMO is going play the Euro card like Scola did in free agency.
Once stories started to float that Scola might go back over seas Morey but up his best offer real quick.

I guess Jones is done. What a fall from grace. He was never all that great but he was at least serviceable.

I refuse to believe it. Sure I don't see a bright future, but in the contract insanity that is this free agent market, how does no one roll the dice on that talent and youth? He'll sign with someone soon.

He could be a real difference maker on the Shanghai Sharks.

How is no team not offering Motie a deal yet? I guess teams are scared of his back.

There are a lot of players that haven't signed yet. Someone will pick him up.

He can't sign till the 8th, there's no reason to leak interest or negotiations. For all we know, he's had several offers that just weren't leaked.

Look at how much we threw at Ryan Anderson and he's got the same red flags.

Since we gave DMo the maximum QO, any offer sheet must be for at least 3 years (not including any option years). If he chooses to sign a 1+1, it has to be with the Rockets.

The Rockets did NOT give D-Mo a maximum qualifying offer. D-Mo was eligible for (and the Rockets were therefore required to tender him) a slightly larger QO because he met the starter criteria.

Therefore, an offer sheet can be no less than TWO years (not including option years). He still can't get a 1+1 deal, but he could get a straight two-year offer sheet.

If I was DMo and there were no real offers, I would take the QO play this year and score big as an UFA next year.

    Good stuff, Bima.

Are you or is anyone aware of any actual interest in D-Mo?

What sort of contract he's seeking?

Is anyone willing to play ball?

....or is he viewed throughout the league as damaged goods?

That would be great for both sides.
