Agree to disagree. Last year, you had a team that won 41 games last season totally underachieving and playing a poor man's version of D'Antoni ball with shooters who can't shoot. Now you actually have D'Antoni's system in place with two very good shooters added to the roster. I see no reason why the Rockets aren't a playoff team next season, and as long as they stay healthy, I see no reason why they don't win more games.

Sorry, but you lost all credibility when you claimed that two European players who never played a single possession of NBA basketball were the only potential savior to the season. That's almost Brandon Jennings-level crazy.

Has anyone ever tried seeking out Brandon Jennings because they want to win?

    Cavs have nothing to offer.

Maybe if Houston didn't sign the fake Kevin Love, you try to make a play for Love or Frye but as is, they're redundant.

Ryan Anderson has a much different game than Love, if you have to compare him to another tall white guy as a cop out it's a poor man's Dirk.

Kevin Love is an ELITE rebounder. He is an elite passer. He is not a spot up shooter in an ideal situation.

Only similarity to Love and Anderson is the fact that they aren't going to provide much rim protection.

At one point in time Love was seen as one of those guys who would take a charge and do the dirty work. That seems to have faded in recent years but in the 2016 playoffs Love showed a grit we hadn't seen from him in years. In a crucial possession Kevin Love guarded Steph Curry better than anyone else has this season.

Kevin Love could easily play center in today's NBA. We would just need someone to provide rim protection as a bench guy who could be subbed in.

I know this is kind of a silly statement coming from Brandon Jennings but I have always assumed Trevor is well regarded throughout the league after many years of mostly solid all around play and a championship ring. I have also assumed that he would be a perfect pairing next to Lebron either as a SF when Lebron plays PF or a PF if Lebron plays SG or SF. He could easily be an upgrade over Richard Jefferson and play that role well.

Also, Beverley would be a solid PG to pair with Lebron for 20 minutes or so a night. If I am the Cavs or Lebron, I strongly consider trading Kevin Love for Ariza + Beverley + ???? (maybe Harrell or McDaniels?). I think the Cavs need to trade Love for some 3 and D type players that are fairly versatile and can contribute in a lot of ways.

Love has faded at times and is also injury prone while I would consider Ariza and iron man and Beverly has shown some longevity this past season playing in 71 games and improving his shot by leaps and bounds.

I am not sure I would want Love at this point because we already have Anderson but Love is still super talented and could play C on this team for stretches even though our defense would suffer and Love would have to be the 12-14 rebound guy he was in Minnesota for it to work. Also, him being injury prone would fit right in next to our other 2 big offseason acquisitions. ;)

I assume it won't happen but if I am Lebron and the Cavs brass I strongly consider making moves for more versatile perimeter defenders that are proven. After losing Dellavedova, the Cavs will need a backup PG/SG to help guard the wing and make hustle plays. I do think keeping Love is probably the best move for the Cavs but that is assuming that he can continue to find ways to contribute, stay healthy, and not get exposed in the Finals against a perimeter oriented Warriors team with unbelievable firepower. It will be interesting to see what happens to Love over the next several months and if the Cavs think he needs to be moved for better fits to repeat against the Warriors. Of course, no one can predict the future but a Cavs vs. Warriors rematch seems likely at this point.

Cool, with agreeing to disagree but if the Knicks are healthy in the East I take them over and a healthy Rockets team in the West.

No cred lost on my part, you just didn't understand. That was a if statement, not that i think think the Rockets can A. get them here and B. That either can actually perform like a beast in the NBA. I'm just saying that is what the Rockets would need them to do in order to not be a fringe playoff team or on the outside looking in of the playoffs. Rocket as currently constructed are a 7 or 8 seed at best. I see the Knicks as a 5, 6, in the East.

Some variation of Ariza to Cleveland, Love to Sacramento & Cousins to Houston?

    Something like . . . http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zcweod2 or http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zqdex48 or http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=j4ss8l7

I don't know if Sacramento or Cleveland is making that trade.

Sure, I guess you could play Anderson & Love together offensively.

    Defensively, ...

Ariza + Beverley + Capela to Cleveland
Love + Brewer (remember they had real interest in him and he was close with Love in Minny)+ Rockets unprotected 2017 + top 5 protected 2019 pick to Sacramento
Cousins + Gay or Shumpert to Houston

JR the Defense in the paint would be horrendous no doubt but Love can really guard the perimeter. It all depends on team defense taking a step forward similar to the Hawks in recent years.

Ha interesting, I didn't even see this tweet yet from Broussard. Even though it is Broussard, it does make a lot of sense for the Cavs to be pining for Ariza and/or Beverley but I am sure they would want him without giving up Kevin Love. As posters above have already said, the only reasonable thing worth getting on Cleveland at this point is Kevin Love if you are giving up Ariza. I am sure they love Tristan Thompson and big no thanks to Iman Shumpert.

Good proposal. I think that's about as close as we could get to Cousins

Wow... logical proposal for all teams involved!

One needs to be super cautious about the Rudy Gay impact... eg. the fact that every team he leaves immediately becomes while his new team becomes worse...

EXCEPT that Rudy last year seemed to finally realize that he was too much of a "volume" player. His usage finally dropped below 23% - for the first time since his rookie year. And... on paper, he's a great fit for MDA as a Shawn Marion like clone. And most importantly because the Rockets would be short a SF, and Shumpert both isn't a SF and sucks.

Still, not a great defensive team...
