See how the media had a big influence here too. Kevin was always perceptive towards how the media viewed him. He was tired of getting dumped on and now chose THE place where players can do no wrong. Has there ever been an MVP like Curry who played this poorly in a game 7 and the play-offs get a free pass?

How many posters have actually spent time in OKC? And no, 1 weekend or driving through it on the way to somewhere else doesn't count. Ya'll act like it hell on earth.

The more this move sinks in the more of a weak sissy coward KD is to my eyes.
I have absolutely not a bit for respect for the guy anymore.
Especially as all the details about how he was talking to Green all through the playoffs the guy who punched his own teammate twice in the nuts.

yes I just been listening to the Woj podcast with JVG about this.
Woj said that even in the lockeroom other Thunder players were frustrated how he was talking to Green who was trying to recruit him.

This man has no heart or dignity in my eyes.

This was my suspicion. You're up 3-1 and then you under-perform for the next 3 losses. Then you join the team you choked against? A team that was openly recruiting you during the series? For shame, dude. For...effing...shame. OKC would have most likely beaten the Cavs.

He sure was defensive in his excuse letter, talking about his growth as a man. No one thinks you're growing as a man with this move dude and you know it.

Yeah..the growth as a man statement is a joke. He should just say this is the easiest way for me to win a championship.

And the amazing thing is he won't catch 1/10th of the criticism Lebron got.

Ok that's it, what a loser. This is the ultimate stab in the back and the problem with this friendship attitude. Give me 80s and 90s when guys were taking competition seriously over this any day. Crazy how Durant just like everyone else Warrior related get off scott free. Lost all respect for him and I can appreciate Westbrook more now.

Nobody said it was hell on Earth. I've been there a lot of times. The place bored me to tears.

IMO, Tulsa is just as bad. That place has a weird vibe to it.

    From the article...

Barkley, however, did demand to be traded twice in his career in attempts to improve his chances to win a title, leading to trades from the 76ers to the Suns in 1992 and from the Suns to the Rockets in 1996. Houston won back-to-back NBA titles before his arrival, and Barkley spoke openly of his desire to play with the Rockets' big stars before he was traded to Houston.

"The best thing about it would be getting the chance to play with Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler. We would be very formidable," Barkley said in July 1996, a month before he was dealt.

where's the part of Barkley being budybudy and talking with his playoffs opponent during the series?
Did the Rockets btw had a 73-9 best all time record?
And Barkley when he left his teams, did his teams had a top 5 player along with him? Did his teams do well and would reach the finals if he hadn't choke himself? No?

I love the constant moving of goalposts, now to something that is just speculation and you didn't even know about 24 hours ago. Nevermind that Barkley wasn't even criticizing that.

Barkley also criticized Lebron for moving in the same article, if you bothered to read it. Lebron went to a lesser team than Barkley did, given that the Rockets actually won TWO titles.

 Yes to a lot of that. Kevin Johnson was a fantastic player. The Suns were loaded and were the #1 and #2 seeds in the years they lost to the Rockets, including choking a 3-1 lead. They also went to the Finals the previous year.

But in general, I'd be curious for future reference what terms a player can leave under or what teams they can't leave to. 73 wins is bad, but 2 titles is not. What about leaving for a 60 win team? 40? You can't leave a top 5 player, but maybe a top 15 one? It's OK to leave, but not if you talk to the opposing players on the court? I'd be curious how you get to the standard where only Durant is bad, but everyone else is OK.

LOL, major's last paragraph is such a logic fueled beat down.

It doesn't matter. People love being angry and judgmental these days, for whatever reason. It must be an addiction.
