Another thing that would happen if anyone else got caught doing what Hillary did is that their security clearance would be revoked and they wouldn't be able to get another job that required clearance after they got out of jail or off probation......unless it was an elected position.

This was the only real threat to her being elected, and to the surprise of no one she will not be punished for any wrongdoing.

Looks like I'll be getting my mattress refunded!

Yup, like how Cheney manipulated the country into war and profited off of it?

If a politician can get away with that, then I am fine with a politician using their own email server and not getting punished for it.

Funny enough though, after this investigation Hillary Clinton would be ineligible to be the president's personal secretary because there's no way she could get the clearance for the job.

case in point, Wen Ho Lee

like everyone else in his workplace, as a matter of convenience, WHL took classified info from a secured room back to his cubicle to complete his work.

Bill Clinton's DOJ jailed and shackled Li in chains while waiting for a trial, during which the Gov't could not produce any evidence as to

what secret(s) was supposed stolen by Li

which country(ies) had interacted w Li

So he said, yes, they found negligence and have evidence but since this situation is 'unprecedented' and due to the statue of the situation, she is currently running for president, he doesn't think the case is winnable and so recommends not to prosecute.

    WOW

Trump was correct when he said rigged. That is crazy

To have the evidence but still don't think you can win because of the unprecedented statue of the situation (politics)

Let's be clear - you are talking about someone accused of selling nuclear secrets to China and comparing that to an email server.

"Although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. Prosecutors necessarily weigh a number of factors before bringing charges. There are obvious considerations, like the strength of the evidence, especially regarding intent. Responsible decisions also consider the context of a person’s actions, and how similar situations have been handled in the past.

In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here."

"To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now."

Comer is discreetly saying she isn't fit to be president

Oh joy, we get to celebrate Corruption Day right after Independence Day. How appropriate.

Basically you backed up what I said. This is an unprecedented situation and politics make it un-winnable even though they have the evidence.

The law she broke specifically says intent plays no role. You can unintentionally do it and you broke it and thus must face punishment.

It's done. As is any last remaining hope that the rules apply to the powerful the same as it does for the rest of us.

Please, spare me your high horse. When Republicans police their own for far worse I will start to care.

Cheney's actions led to 10's of thousands of American soldier casualties (not to mention 100's of thousands of Iraqi lives and the creation of ISIS) so he could make a profit. And you are ok with that and get all up in arms about an email server as "corruption".

    You have no idea.
