    Thanks

The site is blocked at work so I'll probably order once I get home.

I just bought 2 jugs of amino X. I'm not taking creatine anymore. Research say it's harmless, bull****ing****. That stuff will tear your kidneys up

Currently I'm taking Muscle Pharm Protein Powder and Creatine. I'm gonna do away with the creatine as well as soon as mine finishes. It does not seem to help.

I do want to switch the protein I am using. What is the most recommended that taste fairly well.

Going to the gym regularly in the morning, but not taking supplements.

I eat eggs and PBJ sandwich after the gym, but am interested in taking something.

Is it necessary if I'm getting protein in my diet right after? Does it help?

I was thinking of getting BCAA capsules for pre-workout, and drinking Whey protein, post workout.

The internet offers nothing, but contradicting advice, so hoping someone versed in supplements and nutrition can help me.

Pre-workout a meal with some slow digesting carbs like oatmeal and some protein.

Post workout (like after 10 minutes), a whey protein scoop with some fast carbs.

1 hour after workout - a proper balanced meal.

Personally, I wouldn't do PB right after a workout as it contains good fat but it slows down the absorption of protein. The one thing you want post workout is quick absorption of protein to the muscles for recovery.

It's hard for me to be flexible with time and meals, because I'm on a time crunch. The gym opens at 4:30, and I wake up at 4:10 to get ready and to be there when the doors open.

I'm unable to eat a meal before and 1 hour after, since I have to leave for work pretty quickly.

I'm hoping the supplements could address this.

Do you have experience with taking BCAA?

The only BCAA's I take is:

But I use it during my workout. Not pre and not post. 1 scoop with about half a gallon of water and I'm good.

Protein synthesis takes place for days post workout. You can chug all the high sugar protein shakes you want and it won't improve post workout protein balance because the minuscule anabolic window is a myth. Nutrition is important but you have to use common sense about when people are making stuff up to sell you giant pink shakes so you look like a douche when lifting.

lately i've found that taking BCAAs/rhodiola rosea (both pure powder form) is a great pre-workout combo, especially if you don't use caffeine. bonus, rhodiola is supposed to be great for cortisol levels/belly fat.

    Just curious.

Has anyone tried Spirulina Pacifica? Have you noticed any effects or benefits?

Spirulina really is a great source of protein but supposedly some supplements have problems with contamination so look out for that.

Thanks. Any idea on how I can ensure that the Spirulina is clean of contaminants?

There seems to be no guarantee anywhere...

I quit soda and caffeine, am going back to the gym, usually four days a week. I'm trying to eat better to reduce my weight. I'm 6'3" weigh around 240 (fluctuate between 235-245 or so), and if I had to guess, I'd say 15-20% body fat.

I'm also trying to reduce my blood pressure naturally. I'm trying to run at least a mile and a half each day I'm at the gym.

I don't really have a routine, but I'm just lifting to try and isolate the body parts I most want to change (pecs, core, back, shoulders, etc.).

I will read through this thread for advice. Thank you.

Also, just curiois, how do you guys handle your weigh ins?

get a routine in the weight room. "Winging it" is wasting your time

Agreed. Winging it better than nothing but you won't get any consistent or measurable improvements. A routine is a must.

i'm currently on first cycle, second week, and curious if anyone has seen substantial results..

it's MWF, and i've been integrating cardio on tuesday and thursday...

it's tough, but I'm trying to find something that will get me an athletic build; gain muscle and burn fat at the same time...
