I'm pretty sure that's exactly what he meant. He didn't even say that a 22 year old playing serious minutes for a playoff team working with Hakeem and previously with McHale has a chance to be one of the best C's in the league. Which to me says: if he continues to work, Capela can be a starter in this league but he hasn't shown much more than that. I'm happy with that. A realistic assessment without lofty goals. Clint will spend all summer working on his FT's and strength + continuing to polish his jump hook. His 3rd season will be very good imo, starter material for a lot of teams. If by year 4 he's showing improved footwork defensively and fewer tic tac fouls, he could break the ceiling and beat these expectations but as long as you realize these are huge expectations, it's easy to see why it's so awesome where he is vs where he was less than 2 years ago. He's still 22.
In my mind this is a make or break year for Clint. We need 12 rebounds and 2-3 blocks a night and we need it now. We need that free throw up to 60 percent. We need toughness and energy every single night. He is so capable of single handedly giving this team a future again.
Correct. Ive put in much work and not gotten what I Incorrect. Wasn't until very recently that fake help came about.
Check how many players in the NBA averaged 12 reb + 2.5blks + 60% FT last season and you'd know you're expecting too much.
dream also said dwight was poised for an mvp season lol i don't know why he has to prance around for les like this. funny thing is he's actually probably got a higher net worth than les now aside from the rockets franchise
Keep in mind that he'll probably play not more than 30 min x game though, i'd say this, if he can put down something like 8 and 10 with a couple of blocks and 50/55% from the line, it'll already be pretty good for us.
Expecting? Who said I was expecting? I am hoping like, you know, a fan? Sheesh... Can't say anything nowadays with a smart ass know it all dude popping in.
Clint is going to need help on the defensive Glass and protecting the paint. If he gets in foul trouble then is all on Dmo smh
i'm oddly optimistic about our front court this year. Clint, RyAn, D-Mo, Montrez...lots of different matchups we could play. the key will be solid PG play- Dwert and Clint played som much better with Prigioni two years ago- if we could find someone similar this year then i feel good. Pat is a different kind of player.
