The Durant news is disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.

    BUT

Why are so many of you condemning our season to mediocrity already??

OKC are now irrelevant, the Clippers are ancient and getting older. Dallas will be no better than last season.

I see the Wolves improving a lot and making the playoffs, but apart from GSW: who actually got better in the west? I think Houston did clearly (we still have more moves to make as well). We may not be contending for a title but I think we will be one of the better teams.

The Spurs are the Spurs, but even they are getting older too. Why is it so unreasonable to think we could finish second or third in the conference?

I think 55 wins is achievable.

I remember how brash everyone was about Dallas last year, and how they were gonna suck. Of course they did better than we did. The clips getting old and irrelevant? They've been better than us for years and they're still better than us; what are you talking about? OKC is still better than us without Durant. SA, GS, Memphis ...all better than us. I don't see the big opportunity in the west you speak of. I see first round playoff loss.

Let us wait and see, shall we?

All those negative or homerism posts are not necessary.

The truth always lies inbetween those 2 extremes.

Rocket homers will never know what is behind closed doors of the Memphis, the Timberwolves, the Utah, the Portland team.

All they watch are Rockets games

Our rivals never sleep as well.

[calm down] sitting at the first week of free agency? (12th seed)

its just one week. its a long offseason and durant can pull a dj on the warriors and join the rockets instead. gordon and anderson will play at least 75 games each. we can still get festus and a pg for cheap. all is well

We have plenty of time find the corner that we're gonna need to turn.

The Wolves is the team that scares me. I think they are going to be scary, good for a long time.

    I'd project a top 8 of:

    Top 4:
    Warriors
    Spurs
    Clippers
    Grizzlies

    Next 4:
    Rockets
    Blazers
    Thunder
    Utah

We'll be a good team. Utah are going to be great with the addition of Hill, Blazers will be good (Not sure Turner was the right signing but meh).

Westbrook's scoring load has increased but I'm sure he doesn't mind.

Spurs are intriguing. Another year older for Manu/Parker/Duncan. This team needs a scoring injection in the worst way.

I'm excited for our team. Pressure if off, expectations are lowered. Let's see what we have.

I'm with OP. We will be up there with the Warriors given our style of play and focus on offense. The league is moving away from defense. How many points can one score and just about how quickly. 6 seconds or less!!!

what if we just don't send 2 or 3 guys downcourt every possession? it's not like anderson or harden are going to provide any defensive resistance anyways so might as well let them just cherrypick right?
