Any ways that would be funny as hell if it happened, I seriously doubt it though...but I guess the Thunder could try the Rivers approach and bug him about it until he actually signs. Make him feel guilty about it. Isn't that what the Clippers did? They continued to court DeAndre after he verbally agreed with Dallas.
i agree with you in the long run. winning tends to cure everything. people will just see 3 titles on durant's resume and talk about how great he was. but i would argue there is a time value to praise or your legacy. being praised as you do something is worth a whole lot more than being praised later. if lebron won this championship and people, for whatever reason, hated him for it but then 20 years later said "wow, he was unbelievably great and somehow won a championship for cleveland" i don't think it would mean nearly as getting all of that praise and adulation right now. i imagine having to fight for the legitimacy of your accomplishments probably sucks more than just having people say "great job." if i ever get some accomplishments, i'll let y'all know. i suppose durant could be practically unique in all of the world of sports, and even the human species in general, in not caring how other people perceive him. some people don't. in that case, he won't care. but if he's not that unique guy, if he's the guy who said he was always tired of finishing second (which included personal accomplishments, not just team ones), then he probably cares what the fans think to some degree. no one's going to tell durant how great he is if the warriors go 78-4 and sweep the playoffs. i mentioned this is another thread, but if lebron really had won "not 5, not 6, not 7" then he probably would have still gotten a lot of hate for his miami championships. the fact that reality smacked them in the face and then he had to throw that team on his back to pull out playoff series ended up helping his "in the moment" praise and legacy talk and still helps it to this day.
What Durant did was so p***y like that no one can believe that he would actually do it. So now the conspiracy theories are gonna come out of the woodwork, lol.

do you think lebron enjoyed having the whole world hate him for the first 2 years in miami? he managed to change the narrative with his 45/15 game in boston and eventual championship where he carried the team. and the heat even seemed to become a begrudgingly respected team after that. but that still involved being the most hated person in sports for 2 years. it seemed to weigh on lebron. and he still had to change the narrative to get out from under it. maybe kd won't care that half the time he sees his name it's followed by "is a b****", but he'd probably just as soon be liked than hated, like most people would. sports fans may not "matter" in the grand scheme of things, but when your entire career essentially involves being around and being scrutinized by sports fans, it can't be fun if they hate you.

Warriors will miss Bogut's interior defense. He makes up for a lot of mistakes by their overrated perimeter defenders. Lets not forget they went 0-3 in the finals without him back there.

Imagine Draymond running the break with Klay on one side, KD on the other, letting Steph run to either corner or even trail the break for a long 3. That's ridiculous. 3>2 and the other team isn't going to be able to score 130 points a game.
