    Yes, that's exactly right.

That's like a business that sells a product to make a decision that pisses off its fans and to say "So what?"

Yes, the person that made that decision will still be rich, he'll still be living the good life, but he'll always be the guy that ruined a good thing.

Like George Lucas. Yes. This is exactly like what George Lucas did to Star Wars.

Westbrook's not saying anything so they are trying to make it up. If I were Westbrook I wouldn't say anything either. Enjoy your vacation young man, lol.

I agree to a certain extent. It's not as bad as Durant, but I agree that people forgot about how he came back to Cleveland.

I think people still do not respect his championships in Miami. The last he won with Cleveland was different because of two main factors: (1) He "came home" to where he should have built his legacy. (2) GS was hated more than Cleveland by most non-Warriors fans.

But he wouldn't have come back if Cleveland wasn't already had the pieces for him to be a contender, and Miami's stars were clearly declining.

Because of that, LeBron will never be respected as much as guys like Magic, Bird, Isiah, Jordan, Hakeem, and Duncan. Heck, I'd say even Kobe will get more respect than him.

These NBA dudes are lame man. Doesn't matter though. We didn't have a chance to win a ring anytime soon and that doesn't change now.

Because, while playing for the titles every year is fun and all (Boston offered that, too), the fans and media will define the legacy of the player, moreso than the player. Lebron was all set-up to be a tainted superstar (regardless of the two rings), until he moved back to the team who drafted him (and a hometown fan base who loved him), and he knew it.

He could have won eventually in Boston as well, with Horford, an allstar PG and all the assets Ainge has. Don't make it sound like he didn't have other choices.

What the player wants for himself, of course, matters the most. But no need to swing the completely other way and say fans don't matter to the players.

Lebron left Miami after losing and seeing that the window might be closing with the injuries and declining performance of his teammates. Then he got Kyrie and Love together, both at the time were MVP candidates, + one of the deepest rosters in the NBA that year before the first game of the season was even played. Why would anyone buy into any other story that what Lebron was doing was for anything but his legacy? His second departure was just as set up and to storyboard his career even further.

I don't like what Durant is doing, but come on, at least he isn't using shade like Lebron to make you think he's doing it for some other purpose than to chase a ring and generate lines for his legacy.

PS why would you mention Barkley or Malone? Both of them took pay cuts to bandwagon on winning teams.

i just want to add to the bolded, the player's peers as well. these guys are professionals who for the most part live/eat/sleep bball. they know when they see a player choking the last 3 games of a playoff series. and they know that what he's done now is not proper. hell even in casual pickup games, to do what he's done would get clowned to no end. the entire league has no doubt lost respect for durant after today.

Kyrie was never a MVP candidate? Love was for like half of a season for all that's worth.

Also Barkley and Malone were well past their prime. Like if Dwight joined the Warriors instead of Durant he would be getting none of this. It would be "Alright, he realizes he's well past his prime now and needs help."

That's why I'm interested to see what media spin the league will try to make it seem competitive. Hyping the Cavs most likely.

The rest of the nba teams fans have no reason to watch, go to the games or pay for league pass.

Maybe we didn't have parity but right now even the illusion of one is completely shattered.

And I want to ask for those who are parents. Who here will go buy their kids KD shoes? What good example will KD be for your child? Is that the paradigm you want to give them? Be a coward?

Found simulation of Warriors versus Cavs three-headed champs in next year's finals.

Kyrie was not an MVP type player, neither was Love. Kyrie was unhappy in Cle and it was a lotto team. They traded their number one for Love who Minnie was happy to part with. Lebron took a risk going back to Cle - his best option was staying with Miami - which while that super team was aging Riley could have retooled a better team around him than he would have had in Cle.

Durant could have chased titles in a rapidly rising Boston as well, who added Horford, already have an allstar PG plus all Ainge's assets, and great coach, etc. That's the comparison of Lebron going back to CLE. Boston is instant ECF contender/winner.

Durant instead going to a 73-win team who came very close to repeating is only comparable to Lebron going to Miami.

Once you win, all of the bitterness of this move will go away. The chance to be on the best team ever is nothing to sniff at. However, if they don't win? Look out!

LMAO, Im at the point where some of the things you guys say are so silly Im don't want to reply. Fine fine, his legacy doesn't matter, he didn't go back to Cleveland when he couldve went virtually anywhere else because of legacy eventhough winning in Cleveland was not set in stone. Sometimes I think you guys just disagree to disagree, lol Lebron himself said it was about legacy and it was a promise he made to Cleveland fans. This repaired James' legacy. KD wants to win a ring he could make money anywhere. So if winning a ring means he cares about his legacy then how people feel about how he won that ring is something he should care about as well. How you win matters. His legacy is tainted and its true whether you like it or not. The general NBA fan hates this move, journalists and old heads hate this move those are the people who write your legacy.

Hilarious. Especially the Curry part. He just needs to stand in the corner.
