Here comes the Durant/Warriors slurpers trying to put this in the best light possible.

Bottom line. Durant will always be known as the guy who couldn't get it done without joining a super team. We saw how Lebron was treated. He was only able to rehabilitate his reputation by going home (and miraculously winning the title there). And don't tell me this doesn't matter to these guys. Look at how emotional Lebron got after winning in Cleveland.

I will actively root against the Warriors but realistically know they will most likely dominate the NBA for the next 5 years...maybe longer...and win multiple championships.

It might be a good move for the Warriors, their fans and maybe even Durant himself ultimately. But this is bad for the NBA. Not just because we have a prohibitive favorite for the foreseeable future...but it means the era of the "super team" the Heat pioneered isn't just a one off. It will continue and has become the norm. Call me old fashioned, but I liked the era where players stayed loyal to team/cities and rivalries between teams/players were REAL.

The NBA just got a lot more boring.

Lebron won with a super team in the end. You are delusional. This is the era of super teams. Durant was never gonna win anything in OKC. Couldn't even get past the Warriors let alone the Cavs.

    lmao

He should be catching all the heat Lebron got back in 2010 and then some. People are just too obsessed with the Warriors.

The NBA has always been about superteams, you want boring? How about MJ dominating everyone with Pippen, Rodman, one of the best coaches ever and a stacked supporting cast? And he was treated as the GOAT!

I like the double talk from people saying KD can't win without people around him forgetting almost everyone who won a ring is on a superteam, even Lebron was on a super team with Kevin Love, Irving and co. it's just that GSW's super team has more stars which is why his win was seen as miraculous. How about Kobe every single ring he has is thanks to his superteam the only time he didn't have a super team he only reached the 2nd round and quit on his team against the Suns.

What does any of this have to do with what I wrote? I'm delusional? What part?

And...again...Durant winning titles with the GSW doesn't make ANY of what I said less true.

Are you sure you actually read my post? I mean NOTHING you wrote responds in the least to anything I wrote.

He just wants to be a contrarian. I understand we are all used to liking KD but this was a dumb move as far as legacy goes. But hey whats done is done. He'll win a few rings but he looks weak and no one cares about the rings. ESPN will be forced to like it. The NBA will suck, oh well.

That is the problem with this society, more people want to take the easy way out rather than proving themselves by taking the hard, but righteous and noble path to success in life.

It seems like nobody has that competitive edge and true spirit of persevering through tough times to prove some people wrong individually the right way on the court. It almost seems like that has been neutered in exchange for selling out and going along with the herd at the time.

What free agent chose to go to that team? Or any super team from the era I mentioned? Those teams were built through the draft and trades which were controlled by the organization. NOT superstar free agents playing NBA 2K team management for real.

Today, teams can do all the right things and still lose out because the Superstar players have so much power to change the balance of the league. If you don't see the change, then I can't help you. If you DO see the change and don't care, we agree to disagree.

Show me where I said this...

...forgetting that the team you supposedly support did just that in 1994. Forgetting that I was talking about the golden era of 80's and 90's where the Sixers, Pistons, Rockets, Spurs won titles without "Super Teams". Thanks for helping to prove my point.

It's a personality trait. We thought Durant was the old school us vs. them type but now he's shown his true colors.

And the Bulls took out the Pistons, a team that kept them from making the finals two years prior. This is like Jordan leaving Chicago to join the Pistons after the 90 loss in the ECF. Jordan and Pippen made names for themselves because of what they did in that first three-peat. The second time around they took a surrounding cast of specialists and made them better.
