I disagree about the Miami rings, at least the 2nd one. He carried that Heat team to that title. Maybe at the time, people didn't appreciate it as much as they should, but I'll bet in retrospect he'll get a lot more respect for what he did that season. Especially given how they had a 66-win regular season including a 27-game winning streak.
To make the playoffs? Sure. In fact The Spurs may lose Duncan and whoever else, hell Popovic should just retire.

It will be interesting to see how the NBA will try to advertise and attract new fans. 29 teams have no hope of winning but yeah...go and watch the RS. And how clever by Nike. Turned every other into a Durant hater. Sure it will help him sell his shoes.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Four years in a row, the biggest FA with any real shot of leaving incumbent team has left — Dwight in 13, LBJ in 14, LMA in 15, KD in 16.</p>— Eric Koreen (@ekoreen) <a href="https://twitter.com/ekoreen/status/750023753002848257">July 4, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Interesting. So, in two years Durant and Harden could both be free agents. Maybe they will choose to team up in Houston.:grin::grin::grin:
There's definitely a hidden, down-the-road Nike bonus in this. They needed him out of OKC. And with GSW he can eat at Curry's growing shoe sales.
As previously stated Durant can choose wherever and whoever he wants to play. If all he wanted was a ring, it was a smart choice. The other side of the story is that if he wins one, that achievement will be greatly diminished, simply because it was expected. LBJ on the other hand, with the help of only another star (not Kevin Love, lol), elevated his status as top dog by willing his team to a championship against a historic team. The things LBJ did to win it all this year will be remembered by many bb fans. The enormous weight of an entire city on a man's shoulder is the stuff of legends. Durant winning one next year, meh...
The Warriors have the last two MVP's plus two MVP contenders and a Finals MVP, lol. That should put things into perspective a bit, lol.
why would any kid want to buy his shoes? It's not even his team. He's the sellout who went there to have a ring handed to him. If u were a GSW fan whose shoes would you buy? Curry's the player you drafted and carried your team to a title or Durants?
Also, it hurts Curry's legacy. Both of these things combined. That he choked away a 3-1 series in the first place and that he needs yet another superstar player on his team to win. No one will ever confuse these guys for being the greatest, not even at their position.
