I want TJ to find a really great opportunity and be in a place where he can rebuild his career. When he was at his best he showed some real promise but went through way more craziness than any young NBA player should have to.

 

Also, somewhat unrelated: look at the difference between how Tim Macmahon covers the Mavs for ESPN versus Watkins for Houston. Watkins brings nothing to the table!

Come midseason both DMo and T Jones will be forgotten.

 

I feel like D-Mo is going to get screwed. They met with him before they signed Anderson and made him feel comfortable, and now no one is going to offer him big money and neither will the Rockets. I don't see him getting eight figures for 4 years.

 

Can't officially get a contract to sign, but (like we see with Dallas and Harrison Barnes) a team could "communicate" that they are planning to sign him for X dollar amount.... which we all would hear about.

In other news the moratorium is entirely stupid.

 

Only way we bring dmo back is for 5mil that's what players like hibbert and Jennings got. Zaza pachula just got 2.9 no way dmo gets more than these guys with that bad back and unproductive season.

I'd love to have him back on a 2yr 10 mil deal is even give him a players option for year 2.

The July Moratorium is NECESSARY. While I was shocked how quickly they were able to determine the final figures, the league/Union lawyers and accountants must have time AFTER JUNE 30 during which to tabulate all Basketball Related Income (BRI) for the prior season. Teams' true cap room available, the max salary, etc., CANNOT be known exactly at midnight July 1.

Look, the league took a step forward this past year by shortening the Moratorium from 10 days down to 6 days. Maybe they can shorten it further in the future.

But it is very much NECESSARY.

 

I doubt Morey offers him a 5-year deal.
