We hope so Yolo. They have a massive hole at the center position now. Rebounding is needed in the worst way.
Have you been watching the NBA lately? OKC has Adams, GS has Bogut, Spurs have Duncan and will probably add Gasol, Clippers have DeAndre Jordan.
Because people say so. SHEESH, you know how this board works. Obviously Harden can bring down the g**damn turnovers, and it wouldn't hurt to get another player, if possible, who can pass the rock. 10 million in cap space along with contracted players to trade might just get that done. Do we roll with Beverly, Gordon, and perhaps GPII at the nominal point guard slot, or do we upgrade somehow? What is an "upgrade" next to Harden, who does handle the ball so much? Or do we go for a solid option at the 5?
I'm actually on board with you. I would love to see them add someone else at the point. And your right, with ~10mil in cap space I hope the can get someone.
Its no longer iso ball. It's high p&r to death. If healthy, I stress if, teams need to have both perimeter guards be good defensively. I'm not really counting on Gordon. But if he shows up, he'll be the best perimeter talent we've had since acquiring James. More so than Ty imo. He's an aggressive scorer but an even better off ball shooter. Anderson is a p&p guy. Clint p&r. We need more but so far we've added considerable talent.
You can only offer poison pill contracts to Arenas Provision free agents. Since Sullinger was a first round pick so he doesn't qualify. If the Rockets were to offer a poison pill contract to a player that was eligible (Tyler Johnson) , they would need enough cap space to cover the average yearly salary of the deal. With $10m in cap space they could offer 3 years/$30M OR 4 years/$40m.
I don't think so. I was just in Chi town and all the talk is Valentin who they are super high on and is their future at the point; they think he'll play a lot this year. Maybe Rondo signs another 1 yr deal, but I doubt it; this market is too rich. We should probably be offering him the same contract we offered Gordon. If we have to trade brew to clear some space, we should.
Our best bet is to convince Gasol that Houston has the best opera out of the teams interested in him, and give him the 10 per.
Rondo would be nice. Rondo 6'1 Gordon 6'4 Harden 6'5 Anderson 6'10 Capela 6'10 Bench: Beverley 6'1 Gentile 6'7 Ariza 6'8 Beasley 6'9 Motiejunas 7'0 Bass 6'8 Goudelock 6'3 C (Vet) I think Harden is best suited guarding SF's. He struggled chasing guys like Redick, Thompson, Green I just hope the Rockets are not scared to add a guy like Rondo especially after the Ty Lawson debacle
I think we may have to wait to spend that 10mil until we figure out what trades we are doing or RFA clears out a bit . We may need it to sign a defensive wing like harkless. Or we may be able to go after a big like Jordan hill or Thomas Robinson .
