This certainly begs Morey to throw some form of Lin/Asik deal at Tyler if he's amenable to leaving Miami. I think he could become our future at PG and is an excellent fit next to Harden.

I like the kid and wouldn't mind throwing money his way, but we've still got some glaring holes. I'd like to see us make a trade soon

I think that with Gordon in the fold, Houston is likely out of the Tyler Johnson game.

Let's steal the kid from Miami. I think he's got something. You know, the "P" word. Unlike our 2 recent signings, I'd be happy to pay a bit extra to put him in a Rocket uniform. Go to work, Daryl!

What's his worst case scenario, Nick Johnson with a jumpshot?

For that type of money there's very little risk. Worth a shot.

@Deckard: I'll second that motion. Pay this tough kid money the Heat won't match, finally bury Llull, and trade or endure the luxury tax. Get Vooch and have shooters at every position.

Yep, I'm on board as well. The only problem I see is in order to sufficiently poison the deal, the Rox probably have to renounce D-Mo.

    http://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/cap/

Space minus his cap figure is only $7,626,919. Trading one of Ariza/Bev/Brewer into space would also do the trick though.

Edit: Scenario with 3rd year max only:

    ($5 628 000 + $5 881 260 + $25 434 263) / 3 =
    12.3145077 million US$

So, Houston would have to get to 12.31M to make this relatively painful for the Heat. Renouncing D-Mo, or dumping one of the above salaries would do it. Even then they may match.

If this doesn't work out they should try to steal Ian Clark from Golden State while they're dealing with Barnes and Ezeli.

There are other ways including using the stretch provision on Brewer.
