Doubt we'll see much of that. D'Antoni always played with rim-protecting bigs (the Suns had Amare and Marion with Thomas/Diaw off the bench, Lakers started Howard and Gasol). That line-up would not cut it in the West against Adams/Kanter, Aldridge/Duncan, Bogut/Green, Jordan/Griffin etc. We would get slaughtered. In fact, the NBA is moving towards longer, position-agnostic players with interior defense/rim protection highlighted as a key skill-set. On the contrary, I think the Gordon signing gives us the flexibility to play big with Harden in the point. Bev & Gordon getting all the remaining minutes next to him. We could even see Anderson in the small forward position with DMo or Beasley next to him. He played quite often next to Davis and Asik last year. I would love to see the following rotation: Ezeli (26 mins) / Capela (22 mins) Anderson (20 mins) /Dmo (25 mins) / Harrell (3 mins) Ariza (30 mins) /Anderson (10 mins) / KJ (8 mins) Gordon (30 mins) /Harden (8 mins) / Bev (10 mins) Harden (30 mins) / Bev (18 mins) A long line-up of Harden/Gordon/Anderson/DMo/Ezeli would be very intriguing. Decent balance between offense and defense with great shooting and post play ability.
I like the idea of Gordon and Harden taking turns bringing the ball up court, (Kyrie and Lebron, ) (Wade and Dragic)
The other Orlando Magic center, Dewayne Dedmon, is a restricted free agent subject to the Arenas rule. Are they going to let him walk and keep Vucevic? That's too much defense, it'll be Harden Gordon Brewer Beasley Anderson They'll score 150 points a game and give up 200 points a game. It'll be exciting!
maybe we should get him instead. before the games have somoene go up to the other team and say "you better not take it to dewayne cuz then you'll be a dedmon dedmon!"
For what it's worth, Anderson is actually better defensively than Jones.....which just means that he's a PF in the NBA. So it would actually be slightly better than DMo/Jones.
make up for defensive woes with a big lineup harden anderson capela dmo zhou qi if you cant guard them, make them shoot over you. too much length for those little midgets
You won't find one, there's still 4 days before anyone could sign an offer sheet....and then he's restricted so the Rockets would have 3 days to match after that.
if he had agreed it would be reported. Same as it has for every other RFA who has agreed. Perhaps he's seriously considering it and the Nets, Rockets and his agents are in negotiations.
