Why is everyone so mad? What did y'all expect? There aren't many "stars" to be had.

I'm aware of that, obviously, i think everyone is.

I'm a big fan of Daryl, really. The reason i'm "mad" is because i just don't see him paying that much two injury prone role players, he never did that, and this leads me to believe this is way more on Les wanting players for MDA which, if real, is a bad thing for the franchise. I also think this may be true since there were those rumors about Daryl out or losing power weeks ago (which Codman has more or less confirmed).

I really don't get why you're saying that to me, but i guess you didn't get my point or i didn't explain myself well enough, again, i'm a big Morey fan, probably even more than you, i'm not bashing him and i still hope he can make some moves to make us better like he always did, i'm just scared that he may have lost some power in the big picture since this would be just bad for us.

Morey's lost power because he signed a guy that everyone has already reported has been on his wish list forever? What? He's losing power because he finally signed a player he's coveted for years?

I'm glad you're a fan but I think you're confused about what's going on here. This was a Morey signing through and through.

i would have understood DM coveting anderson a couple years ago, but his 3pt shot has gone south since his last surgery, around 35% the past 2 seasons. and meanwhile he's leaned more on his 2pt jumpers. additionally, he would have been a great fit next to dwight, but now with nobody to left to bang inside anderson's weaknesses are a lot more exposed. so i am a bit puzzled.

the other issue is that last season we had basically no 2way players on the roster. and now we add a couple more offensive only guys, both of whom are also unable to really play multiple positions.

all in all, i feel like these are MDA picks, and not DM additions..

The only thing I'm truly mad about is that our moves over the past year is because of Les trying to do Morey's job for him.

The moves we've done this past offseason shows a drastic shift in Morey's usual team-building philosophy.

    1. Morey before we got Harden believed that getting rid of cap-flexibility by signing veteran FA to longterm contracts without having a good core is the best way to remain in mediocrity.

Signing Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson along with our pursuit of Kent Bazemore is just exactly what he preached against. We don't really have a great core outside of Harden. Maybe he believes that signing these players will make the team more enticing for a star caliber player next offseason (Cp3?) because we can potentially add one more max guy.

    2. In an interview couple years ago, Morey mentioned that teams hiring retread head coaches was a bad approach.

What do you know, we go and hire one of the most passed around HC in the league in Dantoni. Maybe this might be a case of Morey liking Dantoni's offensive system which does align with the whole 3s and layup thing. But you can easily just hire a newer head coach who will buy into that philosophy.

Also Mchale's firing seems to be all Les, albeit Les did reward Mchale with that extension. Cyberx has mentioned multiple times that Les has been unsatisfied with Mchale multiple times. The sudden firing might be because Les regretted giving Mchale that extension, and finally had a reason to trade him away. Morey rarely/if at all does panic moves such as that.

Mad because we didn't get stars? LMAO what a hillarious spinning.
I will make it bold because this point seems to go over the head of most here.

We gave 4 years full guaranteed to two of the most injury prone players in the league.
We gave 4 years full guaranteed to two of the most one way no defensive chuckers players in the league.

They aren't just bellow average in defence. They dont' have just an ankle sprain here and there.
They are both horrendous and can't defend a chair. They both miss games every single season.

So spare me with the moving of the goalposts.

Same as Noah's contract is a travesty so is Anderson's.
If it was 1+1 or even 2 at a highest $ it would be better.
We have shackled our future capspace with injury prone players who will never even get to play a full season for 4 years.

Trust me, i hope to be wrong. I'm just not sure it's in his habits to pay that much two player of this caliber, nothing more. I know at that time there was a different salary cap situation but, he wasn't ok in paying Parsons too much (and rightfully so imo) so, why being ok to pay the same Anderson? Again, i know this is a different cap situation but still...

This really is like the worst possible scenario.

I'm a big fan of AD and I've been hoping the Pelicans would drop the dead weight and bring in some teammates for the guy that could play some D and stay on the floor. Well, it finally happened, but now the dead weight is HERE, and it's going to drag Harden down. I never could have imagined Morey doing something like this. I feel like a Kings fan right now. Unbelievable.

Another thing, it's not like he took flyers on the dudes, he gave them long term fully guaranteed contracts for substantial amounts of money.

you have to overspend in the new cba so im all for it. even in desperate times ryan at 20m/1-2years is sustainable. but 20m at 4 guaranteed years for someone who isnt elite at anything, past the developing years, injury prone, and the other cons he has, is way too much. yeah he's perfect for mda but at 20m u can get at least two players who can contribute more, or another player with ryan.

the only thing he's above avg at is shooting or scoring. i looked at stats and i cant tell but i know he can score. since orlando i see his ts% dropped to around avg, which is bad for someone who's supposed to be an elite stretch 4. im checking and last season he was worse than the original brick bros, ariza and bev!

i cant tell if he's a terrible rebounder or just avg, but they were bottom 10 in rebounds, and davis missed a lot of games. so there was plenty opportunity there. davis only avg 10, which isnt dominating. anderson is in the bottom half of top 40 rebounding pfs. doesnt look good at all

im ok with gordon risk. my fa fantasy plan was a risk itself, relying heavily on an semi-unproven but promising bench. gordon has been injured for so long that he can only go up from here on out.

That's not the way it works, being injured 100 times doesn't make it less likely you'll get hurt in the future, it makes it more likely.

At this point i just hope Morey can still trade at least Anderson somehow going forward, i think Gordon with a 4 year contract is almost unmovable but well...

If the Rockets wanted to really win go ger Wade for 1 year contract with Deng. You got to get guys to want to play here someone that will attract others. Anderson and Gordon don't bring players here sorry.

then save some money for next year!Just give TJONes a 1 year 10 mill deal just to fulfill cap obligations rather than lock yourselves in with injury prone players.
