Seriously all I could think about while Basti was walking out was how insane ATW will go if he makes. Then whatever that was happened. Still not as bad as Pellè. That was one of the worst I have ever seen. Germany definitely deserved it overall.

Btw, Kimmich got baaaalls. Young, 4th game for our team and then steps up for the penalty shootout vs one of the best keepers of all time in a Euro knockout game. And he hits it like a boss. Same with Sanches, 18yrs old and walks up as Portugal's 2nd shooter vs Poland. Bayern's future is brrriight.
Thanks! Appreciate it from one of our main rivals in football. Still wasted and didn't find too much sleep. At least my hands stopped shaking. When Özil missed (which I knew he would), I was 90% sure we're out. When Schweinsteiger went to it, I was 99% sure we're in. Had big doubts about Kimmich, Boateng and Hector, but they got the job done. And at latest now Neuer is in line with our all-time greats Toni Turek, Sepp Maier and Oliver Kahn. He would've made his penalty as well, if necessary. Now hopefully Khedira and Gomez are ready to go on Thursday. Our offense struggled big time when Gomez went out. Hummels being banned for basically nothing hurts. Standing Ovations to Italy and the Tifosis here. It's a shame, this match had to occur in the quarter finals, would've been worth the final and I see the Azzuri as the best team in this competition next to us.

Modern greats. #EURO2016 pic.twitter.com/HssJt8ZLLm
— UEFA EURO 2016 (@UEFAEURO) 3. That's our keeper from the World Cup winning team 1954. One of the best at his time, but nowadays not as well-known as Fritz Walter or Helmut Rahn. Didn't mention Schumacher on purpose
Ah, that book he wrote eh? He will always be my fave W. German keeper since I grew up playing keeper in the 80's and watched Soccer Made in Germany w.Toby Charles on PBS religiously. Although the 82 WC footage against France they made sure to edit out that vicious collision with Battiston..!!
The book and some ******* behaviour after his career. The foul/collision was sick, don't recommend to re-watch this. Cool story: As a coach in 2. Bundesliga, Schumacher got fired during the half time break. By a choleric president, to be fair.
Back to topic with sad news. Sami Khedira is probably out of the tournament with a fissure in his thigh. Not sure if Schweinsteiger can handle 90 minutes on Thursday and hopefully next Sunday.
TBF he did make amends with Patrick B. but I've seen it once and that was enough. That whole era of W. German football is my fave period from them, all those players I can name and see in my minds eye. Legends, every one...
