Definitely see what you're saying jay with all the guys resigned with there teams but just wanted to point out pau gasol signing between Portland or SA which seems to be the two destinations for him would be pretty big

Barnes is the better player, we'll see who is paid more. And I will take the "handicap" on Barnes better 3 point % over Anderson and his soft game and off injured ass.

    Again... Maybe.

Pretty sure this was said about Gasol when he signed with he Bulls. Or David West last year.

Gasol still produces... But with these aging bigs you have to wonder if it helps that much in terms of real, true added win share.

Good point. Getting aldridge did put a clamp on the effectiveness west could play on the spurs. Gasol did very well in Chicago but for some reason it just didn't all click together consistently. Too many just spurts of team success

I'd much rather have Barnes than Anderson. They are both flawed. But Barnes wins because

    - younger
    - can play defense
    - can play SF and PF
    - makes Aroza tradeable if you want

I agree completely and what concerns me is not the fact that they are not aggressive on the big names, I am more concerned about some of the cheap shooters that they are letting go. Example Jared Dudley the role players that we will need when we d have our searched for star player, which is not Ran Anderson. To me Dudley at 10mil is a better signing than Bazemore at 16mil per season.

Yeah, but Anderson makes harder 3's than Barnes. Seriously, I'm glad someone else gets it. Not a fan of signing Barnes at beginning of FA but the kid is undappreciated now, already knows & successful in MDA system and his career is still trending up.

Pretty sure the way to avoid mediocrity isn't to give mediocre players like Harrison Barnes a max contract.

Yep maxing out Barnes is starting to sound reasonable

    1st year $18,750,000.00
    2nd year $19,593,750.00
    3rd year $20,437,500.00
    4th year $21,281,250.00

Anderson was the target all along. That was the best they could hope for.

Not close to his max which would be about 26 mil (I believe that is correct).

Anderson's deal will start about ~18.75 mil by my calculations
