That would push Ariza to the bench or he will be traded.

Barnes is overrated and is a product of the Warriors. Do you not remember how many 3s he missed WIDE OPEN? I remember our players did the same thing.

DMo in Playoffs was almost as good as DMo in 14-15.

Wonder what is going on with Biyombo. If we pulled him and Anderson I would be pretty pleased.

And even with those misses, Barnes is still a better 3 point shooter than Anderson OR Ariza. Barnes had a bad playoffs, these things happen, even to superstars. Barnes is still on upside of career, both Anderson and Ariza are nearing downswing of careers.

Exactly, trade him to improve PG or C position. Need to get younger and better at SF while improving another starting spot.

It's really more depressing how overrated this offseason is. So much activity already and basically no change in the power rankings imo

Obviously KD can change that but that's the only guy.

The alternative to where the rockets are now is they succeeded in giving Mike Conley a bazillion dollars or Kent Bazemore 70 million or Al Horford a max deal.

Does anyone watch the NBA? These are ho hum players... Even Horford.

Not saying I'm excited but i do appreciate their prudence. Maybe they do strike out completely. Maybe they actually consider trading Harden and tanking. Unlikely but maybe. Or they find a trade that makes sense with someone trying to move salary.

All of those options are better than overpaying average players.

The concern is they end up paying Anderson $18 million a year. Which would be crazy but will probably happen and keep them solidly middle of the pack. NBA purgatory.

Barnes is not a better 3-point shooter than Anderson.

Barnes has had good percentages these past 2 years because he only takes wide open catch and shoot 3-point shots because of the team he plays on.

Ryan Anderson hits much tougher shots in many different ways (off the dribble, off screens, step back, etc).

Hopefully , Ryan will choose the Rockets and this can begin a few signings. Is it me or the Rockets don't seem aggressive on any of the FA. So many guys have been taken off the board.

Utah has gotten MUCH MUCH better. Detroit has gotten better. Memphis has gotten better. Orlando has gotten better than it was.
So maybe not in the top yet, but for fringe playoff teams things have changed in the power rankings considerably.

Right now we are much worse than Utah and we will see about Portland.

Harrison Barnes is the more talented player, is younger, no injury concerns and is 3 times the defender than Anderson on his best day. Tougher shots is also an indication that his release has slowed down or he's so one dimensional that teams play tighter D on him because he can't put ball on floor.

But nice excuse for why his production is getting worse, it's obviously Harrison Barnes fault that Anderson sucks now.

That's not true. Ryan Anderson takes those shots because he can make them. He's definitely a better shooter than Barnes.

Wow, what a completely irrelevant argument to anything I said.

The only thing I said was that Anderson is a better 3-point shooter.

Then you got really defensive for some reason and started talking about a whole bunch of stuff that I didn't even mention.

Do not want . The money will be a lot . He is too flawed as a player . If he played SF then I would pay for his shooting . Being a big , he has to be able to play defense . He can't .

I'd rather have Dmo , he's a much better passer and scorer outside of shooting. Dmo's team defense and individual defense are on another level given health . I know health is a question mark . But Anderson has too many KNOWN weaknesses for me to want him as anything other than the 6-7th best player on the team . If we bring him in , with his salary we won't be able to get those 5-6 players that are better .

Maybe. We'll see. On paper Hill and Johnson improve the Jazz. But much much better? So they make the playoffs as a 6-8 seed potentially? That's not a ton of improvement imo.

The top 4 in the west remain the same. 5 and 6 should still be Portland and Memphis. 7 and 8 is where you might see some changes. But that's not that meaningful really.

Some jockeying around for position in the east certainly. But it's still looking like Cleveland and then ho hum teams to me.

Boston has done nothing with their assets. KD hasn't changed teams as of yet and if he does it will just strengthen and existing top team

I'm not expecting a ton of change obviously. But just looking back on 48 hours of free agency and noting... Damn, these players were talking about are so mediocre at best. Across the league. Mike Conley at his best is barely a top 10 pg. Horford isn't a top PF or center. He's really really solid. He'd be good as that number 3 guy... But even then not as good as Bosh was, Draymond is, Love could be, etc. and he's 30.

It's just an overrated crop of free agents most of whole won't move the needle much for their new teams or staying on their existing teams.

The rockets could do absolutely nothing and I can see them still potentially getting a 5-8 seed (DMo back, Ariza and Brewer have up years, Capela shines) just as easily as I can see them not making the playoffs.
