I thought the Rockets were at their best that season with DMo at center. If his back is right I absolutely expect to see him at center a lot. Although not dynamic, he is a consistent solid low post defender. He was very good in 14/15 when not chasing guards around trying to defend pick and rolls.

DMo / Anderson or DMo / Beasley would make for a very nice front court on the offensive side of the court.

I want to suck in peace. No Ryan Andersonville, just young players with upside. I can get excited about young players with upside. Please let us suck in peace. So that we may live again one day.

I don't like Anderson much either but come on. He's 15 months older than Harden and averaged 17 and 6 last year. Can't argue about his poor defending.

    Motiejunas 14-15: 12/6/2/1/1 on .504/.368/.602 percentages with a 14.4 PER and a .110 WS/48 in 72 games
    Anderson 15-16: 17/6/1/1 on .427/.366/.874 percentages with a 15.6 PER and a .092 WS/48 in 66 games

When you consider DMo's edge on the defensive end and in the post, I think there's a case that 14-15 DMo was as good, if not better, than Anderson last season. But it's kind of a moot point because DMo clearly took a step back last season because of the injuries.

You know he was referring to DMo, right? Anderson's career averages are 13/6.

You're cherrypicking DMo's outlier of a season. I think that's wishful thinking. If he comes back as 14-15 D-Mo, we're in good shape.

If we get 14/15 DMo then I tend to agree with Bima, i think we see him starting at center, a lot.

Very True. I remember when DMO ripped the Pelicans a new one with a bad back That season.

I wouldn't really call it an outlier. He's been in the league four seasons, he barely got playing time the first two years and that was kind of his breakout year. If he doesn't get hurt last season, he very well could have put up similar numbers.

I do agree though that there's a strong chance we don't see 14-15 DMo again unless he can overcome his back problems.

Dmo went back to rookie season embarisingly bad defense last season, we don't know what we will get this season, both lack lateral quickness and vertical, and what scares me even more is the total lack of rebounding from two below average rebounders.

Capela brings essential rim protection, quickness/athleticism and elite rebounding. No way he doesn't start unless we go sign someone like Biyombo or Mahinmi.

Even last season with how bad it started out, DMo's per minute stats are very similar to those he had in the previous season. His 3 point % was a lot lower, but I would expect that to bounce back with more regular playing time. Honestly playing time was what he lacked the most last season and I blame a lot of that on JBB just being an idiot when it comes to managing minutes.

D-Mo and Ryan as starters? That's all no defensive frontcourt of the league..

Yeah, I think you could run those 2 in spurts, but you need Capela to account for their deficiencies for the bulk of the minutes.

Flyin' Ryan Anderson is 28. He averaged 17/6 last season. He could have career-years under Pringles. Not a star by any measure, but I think he is a good starter.

Seriously though I will cry if Anderson passes on us too, there are literally no options unless out of lwft field we decide to go after Gasol hard.

Would rather max Harrison Barnes, better 3 point shooter, more versatile and much better defender than Anderson.

Not to mention Harrison is younger and is not plagued with all the injuries and off court problems.
