Ok guys there's still a chance to have Dwight pull a Deandre... Lol, not that I want him back but... That'd be entertaining. Honestly though... I just hope they don't pull a Memphis and give Anderson 100 million or something silly since Horford/Durant etc will probably not be here.
- Endorsements - State income tax - Non-pay incentives - Hiring relatives - Post-career opportunities Yes, there are other ways to entice players... you just cannot put many of them in a contract / guarantee them in writing
Yeah, easily.. Once that Conley contract was offered if he doesn't get the maximum someone must have drugged him... 0 All-Star games for Conley... Highest contract ever, (not accounting for inflation).
Horford is a solid player, but he is not $28M /year solid, especially considering his age. Perhaps I am not used to the new NBA salary insanity where Fournier makes as much money as a true superstar like Harden. At the end, Horford is likely to re-sign with his current team anyway. None of the players we are currently going after are even true stars (able to carry their team), so there should be no fuss if we strike out.
True, on a darker side just ask Barkley about some of the other deals, lol... Les should just break the rules (for real this time) and offer Horford and Durant double cash under the table. **** it, they didn't get caught with Barkley, and Les can pay them in wine from his vinyard... Houston is going to need to pull some Blue Chips action at the NBA level.
I don't disagree, the Conley and Parson contracts are insane. 0 All-Star games.... 250 million, ****ing LeBron type money.
The number is irrelevant. Think of it in terms of percentage of your teams cap space. when the cap was in the 70 million range max salaries looked a lot different.
I agreed that the numbers being paid are irrelevant. It doesn't make them less insane. Some of these players are getting powerball jackpots.
