Dallas fans were very upset with what they got from Parsons for the salary they gave him. I suspect Portland or Memphis would feel the same way when it's over.
I just posted in another thread... but not if he's healthy. Healthy Parsons was basically putting up 17/5/5, with good efficiency, the ability to play a couple of positions, capable of defending, capable of being a creator or playing off ball. When healthy, if Beal is worth the max, Parsons certainly is. That's not to mention Batum getting $120 million. When healthy, Parsons is not that far behind him, if at all. Batum is obviously the better defender, but Batum has also had a pretty up and down history. The issue is his knee and health. If only NBA contracts were guaranteed, but there was some % of the contract that didn't get paid for every game that wasn't played due to injury.

Is this an old thread? Causes hes been a MAX player for the last 2 seasons... Another contract based off potential, this time him being potentially healthy.
Spoiler Beat Houston 2 playoffs ago Spoiler Lost Aldridge Spoiler "Rebuilt" Spoiler Better than Houston last year Spoiler Signs former Rockets Dwight Howard & Chandler Parsons Spoiler Lillard-McCollum-Parsons-(???-Vonleh/Plumlee/Aminu-???)-Dwight Spoiler How does that make you feel?
Wouldn't care at all. as someone else mentioned, that's a competitive team, but not exactly a championship team. And there's no way in hell I'd be putting out big contracts on 2 injury prone players - Parsons and Dwight. JR, I was with you on D'Antoni. And I'm with you on organizational "culture" issues... But beyond that... if you're complaining about the Rockets relative to the Blazers... that's just complaining to complain imo.
Lillard McCollum Parsons Aminu Howard would be pretty good, but will Howard accept being the 4th option?
Except Howard was no longer able to be a defensive anchor in the ROckets defensive weak roster/scheme. He won't be able to for a team with even worse defenders. Media love Lillard, but he's worse than Harden defensively... maybe way worse. McCollum isn't good defensively. Parsons can be, but hasn't tried to. Aminu is good defensively, but is he their PF? He can't shoot or play offense well. Why go "small ball" with Aminu at PF if you gain little offensively? It's a competitive roster, and could be a very fun team to watch... but will have obvious holes, injury concerns.
Portions is done. Too many injuries. He may play 50 odd games here and there but the injuries will always hold him back.
