I suspect the Rockets would want to pair Bazemore in the backcourt with Harden. He would essentially guard the other teams best guard regardless if they were a point guard or shooting guard.

On offense he would obviously play off of the ball since James is the primary ball handler.

Of course thats nothing more than my useless opinion.

looking at the Rockets offer of 4yrs / 60mil, that gives Bazemore a salary of ~14mil in season 1 and progressing to ~16mil in season 4. If the Rockets renounce every free agent on the roster except DMo that would not leave them enough money to offer Horford a max starting at ~28.2mil in year 1.

    Important numbers
~40.262 mil under the cap (renouncing everyone but DMo)
~28.2 mil year 1 max salary for Al Horford
~12.06 mil under cap space if they sign Horford
    ~14 mil year 1 salary for Bazemore for 4yr / 60mil
    ~16.4 mil year 1 salary for Bazemore for 4yr / 70mil

So if the Rockets can sign Horford to a max contract they would need to create about 2 million in cap space to sign Bazemore to a 4yr / 60mil contract or about 4.4 million in cap space to sign him to a 4yr / 70mil contract.

The Rockets could create about an extra 3.9 million in cap space if they stretch Brewer but then you have about 3.7 million in dead money on your cap for the next 7 years.

I have seen alot of people comparing him to kj mcdaniels. If your one of them you must not watch or know basketball. The guy has handles, can shoot and has play making ability. Kj has zero of that

I did the math and got different results, I think Horfords contract if where you might of got confused. From everything I've seen Horford's starting salary is 26.4 million, not 28 million which would be his total contract yearly average.

    With a roster of

    Harden
    Ariza
    Brewer
    Beverley
    Motiejunas (caphold)
    KJ
    Dekker
    Beasley
    Capela
    Harrell
    + roster cap holds

we would have enough to sign Horford to his max of 26.4 million, and enough left over to give Bazemore a starting salary of 14.4 million. Then of course we can sign our 2nd rounder Onauku +and undrafted players (Payton, Wjiter, Taylor) after our major signings.

It's possible that you are correct but Larry Coon's faq says that a player with 9 years experience can get a max of up to 30% of the salary cap (94 million approx) which is equivalent to 28.2 million. I know BRI is figured slightly different for max contracts then it is for salary cap space but I don't think it makes much of an impact as far as the final dollar figure. But you could be correct, I'm not an expert for sure.

I'm fine with paying 16-17. Anymore than that is insane I agree. But I have seen the 4/70 number widely reported so Im not sure what's factual and what isn't.

Why certainly! As I posted a couple of days ago: We are about to see average to below average players get paid stupid money. When a Chandler Parsons (who's been out the past two years with knee injuries) is looking to get $25M per year, you have to know that we have crossed over to the Twilight Zone. Might as well sit back and enjoy the show. :p

I agree but what's your point here? This organization is under the gun to do SOMETHING so Dork Elvis can smile into the cameras and tell us how he's just made the Rockets "more better". Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find my "Doc Rocket English Translation Guide"...
