In soccer there are those who were called The eternal talents never matured to a futbal star or superstar
Sorry, I am everything else than a Christion Ronaldo fan but he has matured significantly over the years He was even better than Messi in some years Individually I mean, not that I believe he could lead Portugal anywhere other than a Finals appearance.
Portugal is playing the 2004 Greece playbook to perfection: be the luckiest team still standing. I predict that Belgium will advance to the final if they win tomorrow. If Wales wins, Portugal has a shot.
sorry but why does everyone hate C.Ronaldo? I don't like him but I dont' follow football and I just by principle despise almost everything Real. But why you who follow it don't like and appreciate such a good player? It seems that everyone hates and makes fun of him.
Well at least Portugal play an attractive style of football unlike the ugly non-style Greece played, all bunched up in a defensive lump...
He is very aware of his brand which puts off a lot of people. Imagine Chandler Parsons but with the skills of Kevin Durant.
I think it's the theatrics. His constant diving over the years has really rubbed me the wrong way because he's good enough that he shouldn't need to do that. His reputation, in that regard, was on display yesterday when he was clearly fouled in the box by a Polish defender and didn't get the penalty call. Referees aren't going to risk a game-changing decision on Ronaldo falling down. His free kick technique is also maddening. We know he can score from distance, but launching the ball as hard as he can every single time seems like a strategic mishandling by Portugal.
The one thing is dislike about him the most is his egocentric behaviour, like taking the shirt of after that meaningless penalty two years ago in the CL final against Atlético. Or even worse, no matter how great the assist was he was given, he never runs to the player to hug him first, it's always "Me! Me! Me!". So **** him! Anyhow, we've got Belgium v Wales coming up. Should be better than yesterday with the belgian offense gaining momentum. I don't see Wales stopping them and predict 3-1.
I've really only watched Ronaldo for 2 weeks here, and he's thrown a reporter phone into a lake, ripped Iceland who is the world favorite, and posed on every call. Technically, he hasn't really done anything too wrong, but seems like he thinks he's bigger than the stage, which he may well be, but it makes me want to root against him, instead of for him.
This has been a really fun game so far. I think Wales will pull it out in the second half, Belgium has lost all fluidity to their game.
To be fair, their defense is pretty much decimated. Still, most of the Welsh aren't even playing in the highest domestic league. Atrocious performance by Belgium so far.
