    I think you keep Ariza if you get Bazemore because Ariza can guard a lot of people he shouldn't be able to. He does well against PFs like Anderson, Blake Griffin, SFs like LeBron, whoever, and PGs like Chris Paul. Having both gives you flexibility on offense and defense. Especially because Harden doesn't defend the 2 very well.

    in 2015-16, the average payroll was about $80M. given that the average team wins 41 games, that makes wins worth about $2M. bazemore had 4.1 win shares and only 2.4 wins based on real plus-minus. even using the higher win shares number, he was basically an $8M player. bump him up to 36 minutes a game and he would be about a $10.5M player. so $13M would be a significant overpay.

    and that's not even considering that the average player on a championship team usually has to be underpaid because that's the only way to be a ~60 win team while having the same cap as everyone else, although most contenders spend a decent amount over the cap. even the cavaliers with their massive payroll of $110M and fairly pedestrian regular season win total of 57 ended up spending less than $2M per win. granted, a lot of that "underpaying" comes from the stars like lebron and guys on rookie contracts, but you just make it that much harder when you overpay a role player.

    I am sure the Rockets would rather pay Batum too.

    Too bad the Hornets will give him the 5 year maximum contract.

    I would absolutely agree with this. Ariza could easily be your small ball 4 and him and baze together would work great big or small ball

    how many guys are paid 20 million a year without shutting down their opponents, or being elite sharpshooters or scorers, or playmakers?
    And I like how you left others from the list and focused straight on Bron and KD.
