Do you guys know what the salary cap floor is

    90% of $94m = $84.6m

You can't "stand pat", there is a ton of cap space to fill up

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/hou/salary/

You either sign the talented guys you want or overpay for garbage filler on 1+1 year deals

the cap is going to jump to 105-110 the year after if that helps. Baze is an athletic wing that can put the ball on the floor, moves without the ball, and can knock down a corner 3. has a great wingspan and is already a good defender.

He can shoot and he can defend and he can play the 2 and the 3. He's a solid player.

Bazemore is like a developed version of what I hope McDaniels will be. He's a much more complete player. He can shoot, slash, facilitate, and finish at a high level.

Think of it this way. When you are playing Golden State, there's not a lineup they will throw out there that Bazemore can't match up with. He may not be the best at anything, but he doesn't have any weaknesses either.

That doesn't mean you have to spend 20 million per on a guy who can't dribble and create well and has a shaky jumper. And that was in Atlanta with the best system where everyone got open looks.

The only thing good I have to say about Bazemore is that he would be a good fit next to Harden.
BUT not with the Rockets if we can't get playmaking from other positions.

Bazemore is more than a "good defender"...

    Offensively he isn't anything special.

Will Harden have to wait to become a free agent or can he get an extension at some point?

Its gotta suck for him seeing what some guys are making...

No. He can't faciliate at a high level neither shoot. He's an okay streaky shooter not elite.
    And ballhandler dribbler??? lol

Plz someone post a video with Bazemore dribbling highlights.

I do like that Bazemore can drive and finish-- something that the team is lacking outside of Harden. But he is only moderately efficient overall at a moderate usage rate. He also turns the ball over too much (14.8%).

Aside from not drawing fouls often, but finishing at a higher rate around the rim, Bazemore really is basically Jeremy Lin-- down to the fact that both of them are pretty good shot blockers for their size.

at the 1 and 2. Not at the 3 when he's up against bigger taller guys.
He's a combo defensive guard not a swing.
Just because he had played there because of Korver doesn't mean he's good guarding sfs.

He doesn't need ISO handles! He needs to have good enough handles to penetrate and finish without being a major TO risk... Something Ariza and Brewer can't do.

If you don't bring in Talent this year you risk Harden leaving when his contract is up. People can bash him all they want but the guy wants to win. He won't stick around long if Morey doesn't get him help. That will mean "overpaying" for talent when needed.

He's good at guarding SFs... 6'11 wingspan helps. Not great or anything but good.

I'm fine with him for maximum 17 per and that's ONLY because Harden requires a good defender at the 1 next to him. Otherwise if it was another team, I would hate it.

Still if we have Baze, Harden, Ariza, ? , Capela then the playmaking of this team will be absolutely horrible.

I didn't say ball handler or dribbler. I said facilitator. He moves the ball, and when he slashes inside he can find the open trailer.

He is a fine fit next to Harden. Kinda Parsons-like in role.

I'm not saying he will light the world on fire here, but the Rockets are probably offering big money to him and they aren't stupid.

Jeremy Lin cannot defend three positions or play defense like Bazemore. He also doesn't need the ball in his hand to contribute.

Bazemore primarily brings excellent defense and versatile play.

His offense is overall mediocre, although he is improving and is a solid volume 3 point shooter.

Harden seems like a big city, bright lights kind of guy. Barring us winning a championship or bringing in a superstar (Durant), he will be gone when his contract is up.

Base is not a freaking PG!! He's a 2/3! In Houston he probably starts at SF.
