He isn't that great of a shooter though, and he's pretty undersized for the SF which would be his main position here in Houston.

I like Bazemore, he's athletic, he's only 27, he can hit the 3 ball(not a special shooter though) and importantly he defends some. Basically a smaller SG version of Ariza.

We definitely need a backup SG/SF. I'm all for dumping Brewer, signing Bazemore and running a 3 man Harden/Ariza/Bazemore rotation on the wings. Again I don't think he's worth much more then 14 million, what he gets and what he deserves won't be the same because of this crazy off season, I think he probably gets around 17 million and that would be a decent little overpay.

The goal is probably to get Bazemore committed tonight and bring him into the Horford meeting tomorrow. Very savvy hedge fund type move....cut the opposition off at the knees. Atlanta is the biggest threat, so don't give them anything other than more money to offer.

Has anyone mentioned Bazemore's agent is from Houston and still based here?

Would you prefer to have maxed out Barnes?

Not a guy I would specifically target, but lets see what it ends up looking like.

Honestly, I'm ok with them paying that if it gets him here.

Obviously Harden can't be too upset about getting paid less than him since his even bigger money contract is around the corner.

He would be a perfect compliment next to Harden offensively, in that he's active and moves off the ball.

I envision a fair few back door cuts/alleys being thrown from Harden to Baze.

One of the best young defensive wings with a tradeable contract and some of y'all act like you've watched more than 30sec of him all year, smh

Would love BazeGod for $16, maybe $17 million, just below 20% of the cap. Good for a starter.

statements like this show a complete lack of understanding of supply and demand. Or you'd be happy if the Rockets stand pat this offseason

Fans always get mad about money spent when it's not even their money.

    These people are either

a.) unaware of the current market

    or

b.) just going to criticize what the Rockets do regardless of the move.

Bazemore is like a best case scenario for what KJ McDaniels could turn into if he develops properly.

If you are going to overpay someone, overpay a 27 year old going into his best years.

sorry but if he gets over 18 is not a good contract and we will see how easilly tradeable it will be.

And if this is true, and it nets us Horford, then just think of the "overpay" for Bazemore as really counting towards Horfords salary.

It's a smart move. Even if Bazemore doesn't live up to his salary, he will still be easier to deal than Kanter.

The ultimate goal here is to get a star (Horford). If it works, it gets us back on track as a team "on the rise".
