Excellent post, I referenced this many times in the past. I'm not going to bag on Obama, but McCain truly was an honorable candidate. If people supported him for that, I don't udnerstand how they can support Donald Bum.

Trump is definitely different than other politicians. Given what we've seen from politicians I understand the idea behind wanting something different. But different doesn't always mean better. In Trump's case it is far worse. People admire him for speaking his mind even if it gets him in trouble. The problem is that they mistake him speaking his mind as actually being honest and telling it like it is. Speaking one's mind and not spinning and nuancing everything is refreshing, but in Trump's case it is often dishonest, criminal, and dangerous. Trump has spoken his mind but he hasn't been honest about self-financing his primary campaign. He's spoken his mind but lied about never settling lawsuits against him and misrepresented himself. Trump has spoken his mind his mind was shown to hold believe in racist/bigoted thinking towards a judge in Indiana. Trump speaks his mind, but in doing so has shown that he doesn't care enough about serving the people as President to understand trade agreements, how they work, the role of congress, freedom of the press, and countless other things. Trump has spoken his mind but in doing so exposed that he would chose to order our armed services to commit war crimes and making that part of his foreign policy. For some folks they are so blinded by someone speaking their mind and sticking by it, that they fail to see that the mind is small, petty, self-serving mind that would in no way look after their interest or that of the nation as a whole.
