Why would horford agree for a meeting if he was planning on signing with the thunder. Obviously these butt buddies wanna play with each other
I wish we could quit talking about how bad Rockets fans are. It's not important at the moment. Only time it truly matters is when we're at the Toyota Center. People bickering on a forum doesn't do anything. I do believe we're a awful fan base, but it's whatever. Sometimes I get scared players will realize how lackluster and pessimistic our fan base is, but chances of players finding out are small. Anyways, I'm all for a Horford max if he wants to come. He does a lot of things, but what does worry me isn't his rebounding per se, but the rebounding of the Rockets as a whole. Motiejunas is clearly wanted back by the FO, and we all recognize he isn't necessarily above average rebounder. Clint Capela is a decent rebounder, but truthfully I'm not high on Clint and don't know if hes even ready to give us a consistent 20 minutes per game 82 times a season yet. While we should be good defensively with those three and with Motiejunas and Horford at their best we would greatly stretch the floor and have 2 capable passers with those two. I'd love to sign a rebounding and rim protecting specialist if we nab Horford.
Is it though? If Horford has a meeting with us tomorrow than why waste that time if he's going to team up with Durant elsewhere? I mean could be that OKC is about to finalize that trade too... Could be. Strange that he'd just start following him today though. These two are definitely talking and planning something.
OKC is hot for Horford too. Horford as a Thunder would be scary: Westbrook Oladipo Durant Horford Adams With Waiters off the bench a la the Microwave.
[rQUOTEr]According to sources, they have made arrangements to speak with representatives of Kevin Durant and Al Horford, if not the players themselves -- the preparations in this case being the acquisition of the proper telephone numbers, not any illegal early talks. http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/...eady_to_make_a_run_at_kevin_durant_al_horford[/rQUOTEr]
Because OKC still has to make moves to clear space for him, so it's not a matter of just signing with them....so he still has to explore his other options.
I'll tell you what, if Horford did sign, it should be enough to put us in consideration with KD. Horford, Harden, KD is a helluva big 3. This is the only self delusion I'll be engaging in today
Well this may be different but i remember Morey following Millsap and Dragic following the Rockets...
FWIW, Horford was following Durant weeks ago. I know because I checked it. It does show they're close -- after all, Lowe reported back in February that Horford was someone that KD wanted to play with -- but this isn't an "OMGZ IT'S HAPPENING!" thing. People just didn't care to check it until hours before free agency.
The reason I personally highly doubt we sign Horford is because Horford IMO is highly likely to be the most sought after free agent on the market (volume wise). He can play both center and power forward, so every team that has a need either of those positions and a max, is interested in Horford. There are some really good teams on that list, simply put Horford has a really great line of suitors to pick from. Hakws - more money/extra year GSW/Raptors/Spurs/OKC - can make space with trades Miami/Celtics/Blazers/Pistons/Hornets/Pacers/Mavs - have space or only have to make small/minimal moves to create space. That's 12 possible competitors, 8 competitors with basically immediate cap space, all teams that finished with a better record then Houston last year, a Houston team that has now lost there second best player in Dwight Howard.
If the Rockets (were by a .01% chance) to get a quick commitment from Horford there is going to be a ton of Durant momentum through the media. Whether that would be real or not, who knows.
that's something to keep an eye on...if Hawks lose Al, they may want to blow it up..same for Clips landing KD...you'd have Milsap available..redick..korver..
butt buddies? they are just casual friends, never heard of their bromance... dude, it is fine, just not an automatic Durant sign Durant still wants to sign with a true contender Sorry Mikey Dantony
I've been checking Al Horford's following list for weeks and he followed KD about 1 week ago Not just today And KD didn't even follow back lmao
