You haven't heard anything linking Horford to the Rockets? Um, how about the fact that he granted them the meeting? Maybe it will change, but for now, the Rockets are the only team among those "dozen teams that want Horford" that he has actually agreed to a meeting with. That does carry some significance.
Simple things: Dad, Tito Horford, has a bit of Houston in his roots College champion teammate, Corey Brewer, is still here for some reason Atlanta front court mate, Josh Smith, is still here for some reason Now the part that could be enticing to him: Play power forward Shoot 3s Heavy involvement in offensive sets Easier shots with James Harden creating
Why would Houston be worse if they swapped howard for horford? Rockets will win 50+ games next year guarntee. And what's so great about going To the eastern conference finals? The east sucks no team besides the CAVS would even make it out the 1st round. The Hawks have won 0 games against the cavs in 2 years. If they were smart they would blow there team up they don't have a legit franchise player and unless they get one there stuck winning 45-50 games and getting bounced out the 2nd round every year. The sky is falling fans around here is funny. We still have James harden he's one of the 6-7 best players walking on the planet. Rockets will be just fine next year.
Jesus H. Kee-rist, the negativity on this board is unbelievable. I'm hoping to land Horford (and who knows who else) not only because the team will improve but maybe some of you fake Rockets fans with your "we don't have a chance" comments will get your noses rubbed in s***. You might be right. But some of you are worse than ESPN and TNT/Barkley with the Rockets negativity. I'm not saying, "Be a Pollyanna," or Kevin Bacon at the end of "Animal House" ("ALL IS WEEEEELLLL!!") But damn. Just awful.
You didn't here? According to most The rockets are toxic and nobody wants to play here for 25million dollars a year.
On point as usual. Let's not undersell this. Horford is the clear #2 free agent this summer, and we, not his current team, are the only ones with a meeting right now. My guess is the Rockets don't get a meeting with Durant unless Horford is on board, and they don't get Horford unless Atlanta doesn't offer the 5 year max. I agree with your assessment that Atlanta isn't going to sign both Horford and Howard unless they are dealing Millsap (but Millsap might be the best of the 3, so why would they do that?) Also, we now know that OKC is looking for opportunities to shed cap in order to sign Horford. That has to be coming from Durant. So in a roundabout sort of way, Atlanta might be holding a lot of the cards this summer.
Right now I'm hearing Al Horford is the Rockets to lose. Of course I'm sitting in a hotel room in Savannah talking to myself. Not sure what that means.
Honestly I don't think we have a chance... but not enough people are talking about how important is he can play pf here. He and his dad have been saying for YEARS how much he doesn't want to play center anymore
I didn't even realize that...does seem interesting. I wonder if KD told Houston he wasn't giving them a meeting unless they secured Horford first? apparently he really wants to play with him, so that could be enough to get him interested..
