This isn't the one you're thinking of, but this is the greatest Astros fight ever. John Cangelosi, all 5'9" of him, taking down 6'8" Jeff Juden.

Great people. He was a customer at my dad's bank back then, he was always happy to do any sort of appearance or sign autographs or whatever for kids and fundraisers.

Got to play catch with him a couple of times, my cocky 12 year old self says "burn one in". I couldn't make a fist with my left hand for a week.

From Cuba, we have Mike Cuellar, number 4 on the list, Tiant is first.
Cuellar was an All Star for the Astros in 1967 with 16 wins 11 loses, 3.03 ERA.
The year before his ERA with the Astros was 2.22 and a whip of 1.07 over 225 innings, Another bad trade for the Astros, we got Curt Blefary and Cuellar became a great pitcher with Baltimore and in 1971 they had 4 starters with 20 or more wins, Palmer, Cuellar, McNally and Dobson

Lets do something, what about going by state?

If we list top 10 players form USA it would be something like this:

    1. Babe Ruth
    2. Willie Mays
    3. Ted Williams
    4. Hank Aaron
    5. Ty Cobbs
    6. Lou Gerigh
    7. Mickey Mantle
    8. Honus Wagner
    9. Barry Bonds
    10. Walter Johnson

None are astros, but if we go by state, we will have many astros from many state, especially texas.

    Nolan Ryan, Roger Clemens

Lets talk a little bit about Youngs, he was a great player, but he could had been even better, he died young at the age of 30 because of kidneys disease. His weight went from 170 to 100.
Giants manager John McGraw called Youngs the greatest outfielder he'd ever seen, as well as "the greatest fighter I ever saw on a baseball field" and "the easiest man I ever knew to handle."

He has a career .322 average, he played 10 years due to illness. Even his last year were he was ill, he his .306.

This is a guy to feel proud, a battler, and his height was 5' 8"

And for the record, the first 9 players are in the Hall of Fame, and Kershaw will be there if he stays healthy.

Wow, New York has a lot of Hall of Famer

    Top 5 for me are:

    1. Lou Gerigh
    2. Sandy Koufax
    3. Warren Spahn
    4. Jim Palmer
    5. Eddie Collins
    6. Carl Yaztremski
    7. Willie Keeler
    8. Mickey Welch
    9. Hank Greenberg
    10. Whitey Ford

With the group we see that NY developed better players early on, and Texas are more present players.
    10.

For a couple of years we shared season tickets in the third row between the Astros batting circle and home plate in the Astrodome. Darwin was in the on deck circle. A few rows above us we heard a little girl holler our "Daddy". No response from Darwin. She said it a few more times. Still no response. Finally "DADDY DARWIN". He finally gave her a laugh and a wave.

This thread is funny. Very very funny.

Cesar Cedeno rules all. So does Verne Rhule.
