You have two... boys... I think. Did anyone ever say to either one of you at any point "Oh, you're having a baby"?

Did your mind not understand the question? Did you correct them or were you just thrilled by the question?

    I corrected people.

"Oh, you're having a baby" is not the same as "Oh, you're going to have a baby"

The latter is correct until the zygote, morula, blastula, gastrula, embryo, fetus, etc. actually pops out. Then you have a baby.

Sure, I've got a goiter oozing pus and you're more than welcome to deal with it if you like. Or, I could go to my doctor's office (which doesn't even come close to the same standards enforced by the Texas law in question) and have them take care of it, I understand the chances of complications from my goiter are actually higher than those from having an abortion.

Nice straw man, nobody takes "joy" from abortion. Abortion may be the single most difficult choice a woman will ever face (other than maybe your wife's decision about whether or not to stay married to your dumb a$$), a choice that doesn't mean "joy" for anyone involved.

The DNA of a tapeworm is a living and completely unique set of cells.

These cells are only "alive" because they exist inside the woman's uterus. You don't have any right to legislate for that woman how her uterus is used or the cells inside it are handled.

Same straw man, nobody "loves" abortions, but you sure seem to love straw man fallacies.

I posit that this one is dumber...

Do you have a clump of living tissue somewhere on your body that you would like me to cut off and see if it dies?

lol at you thinking he was being arrogant. That was actually one of the most nicely" crafted posts I have seen towards the arrogant "my religion says so" crowd. Yes it is on religion because science and biology don't back you up. Its the same reason cml chose to ignore what I said on the last page completely.

You are correct, they are 10 (going on 16) and 12 as of today.

Sure, of course the word "having" indicates future tense.

It would appear yours is the mind that doesn't understand the question.

They didn't ask "is there a baby in your wife's belly?" Even if they had, I likely wouldn't have corrected them because there's no need to be as big an a$$hole as pro-lifers tend to be on this topic when some well-meaning person asks about something as joyful as a child coming into the world.

No, I will never force my moral beliefs onto someone else. I will never tell a pro-life woman that she must have an abortion. That's the thing, the pro-choice position doesn't require me to force my beliefs on others, it merely requires me to keep you from doing so.

    Yes, you really should.

Outside of your lab, the real world doesn't work that way. Ask anyone who has involuntarily lost a child in pregnancy. There will be plenty of tears and a fog of sadness over the loss of a baby.

I notice that you don't put any qualifiers on that joyfulness. Yes, a new life is something to be joyful about: to protect, to cherish and to nurture.

    Interesting slip-up...

Oh, and since you are adamant about not forcing personal beliefs on anyone, shall we just strike down the laws against murder and rape and money laundering... and just about anything else there are laws against.

Ask any woman that was raped and had to goto a back alley abortion clinic and died from peritonitis...there won't be any tears from her grave.

Notice how the reason for the rules in the first place was "womens health" and not roe v wade? Yet you offer no sign of support for their health. In fact you're walking proof that what Texas was trying to do was complete B.S under the disgusting guise of caring for women. How do you sleep at night giddy?

I've spent a lot of time in labs. That is my real world.

I lost a fetus once. It happens. Turns out it was behind the couch.

Kudos for writing a post that addresses the Supreme Court decision, instead of helping to turn this topic into the same "discussion" every thread about any aspect of abortion devolves into.

Chill out brother... I don't even live in Texas and have made no comment about the bill whatsoever. I'm just, as usual, chiming in for the defense of innocent and defenseless children.

I have nothing but the best hope for every woman's health.. and every unborn child's as well. Ya dig?

Those are two very mediocre deflections.

Where in the Constitution does it grant the right to kill babies???? Hint, it doesn't!!! In fact it does not mention it at all which means it falls under the 10th amendment which grants the states the right to make laws concerning this.

The "topic" veered in a direction that I have an interest in.
