My problem is your whining in this thread about this thread. Your stupid posts offend me. Why don't you go create your own homer thread to whine about people who criticize Luhnow.
Everyone does second guessing in sports. Some of it is dumb and some of it is well founded. Those types of posts are no different. It's the nature of fandom.
The knock against him has always been can he be a starter? He has a funky arm angle and there were questions about him being able to repeat it consistently and pitch numerous innings. He was the one guy I really will miss in the Milwaukee trade.
I'd love to see your evidence of me really whining... More so than the people who consistently call out the front office for every decision that in hindsight doesn't workout (or calling out decisions before they've even had a chance to work out) I also find it hilarious that you consider me a homer/pro-Luhnow guy. Guess you weren't around when I consistently challenged every decision they were making throughout the rebuild (and still have doubts about whether the fruits of sucking that bad would be that much less if they merely continued to have solid drafts... Like this year's... And weren't a joke of an MLB franchise that basically killed all interest in baseball for 3+ years). Perhaps you have me confused with somebody else... I dunno... I can't recall a single back and forth with you, other than this year's VV stuff. Are you that upset at the front office's trade decisions that you're no longer a fan? Because that's what you're coming off as at this time. Perhaps I'll decide to do that with the Rockets this year... Never been closer than considering why I follow that team more so than now.
No - that's a bunch of self-rationalization. The ones here are mostly of the dumb variety, and second-guessing based on one or two games is the nature of stupid fans, not all fans.
Former Astros on pace for 2+ fWAR: Zobrist Pearce Fowler Pence Beltran Dietrich Villar Grossman Velasquez Bettis Happ Norris None of those really sting me all that bad. I wish they'd found a way to keep Villar. Pearce (next to Desmond) was a guy I really hoped they'd go after last offseason in free agency. I think Velasquez will end up hurt as much as he is healthy.
Rollins, 2 innings, no runs yesterday. This lefty i saw him pitch in Puerto Rico, and had a very nice arm, especially for a lefty.
Given that you were one of the fans evaluating trades after one or two games, I'm not sure your opinion means all that much. I especially enjoyed how you really wished we kept Kike Hernandez after his 2 HR game. Nevermind that's he's back to being a replacement-level player. But yeah, let's just look at that one game and evaluate the trade that way!
At least Aiken agreed to a contract, more than I can say for Dietrich and Bettis or countless other guys his post didn't mention.
