Conley would be my pick. If Harden and Conley can prove to be a potent duo, the other free agents will come knocking on our doors. We need two guards in the line up that can score.

Conley appears to be the most attainable given that he seems not enamored with the Grizz, most other teams already have a solid PG, and the usual play with a star in Harden, no state taxes, etc.

He should be priority # 1 as it seems Durant isn't interested and Whiteside is likely Faker bound. I'd then try for Horford, Batum, and probably Parsons in that order.

    Why would harden not be?

Harden wants to win he wants good players around him. Conely and horford are actually good fits next to James. If james played up to his mvp form the Conley and horford are great 2 and 3 options. From there you have your big 3 locked in and you start adding pieces around them. No more star chasing, it becomes all about the right role players and that's exciting.

I would offer conely and horford the max on day one and get the offseason wrapped up quick.

Even if Conley is ready to come here, Mauri will probably tell him to wait for Durant.

What you are saying makes too much sense.

Max for Parsons and Lin instead.

Except we're gonna wait for KD lol.

Personally I'd go after Batum and Horford instead, pgs are a dime a dozen a guy like Batum is a way better piece to have next to Harden than Conley.

I pray you lose your hands in a heavy machinery accident this summer.

We seem to be the most suitable besides SA for Conley to win a championship

I bet we sign him immediately then try to go for Durant

Conley would be nice it is like to see the Rockets go after Evan Fornier. He's on 23 and can play the 2 guard or SF position at 6' 6". He shot 40% from 3 land last year and over 50% from inside the arc. The Rockets need shooters, and Fornier fills that need

i don't get the fascination with conley, at least at the max. conley is a nice point guard but not exactly a superstar and you are going to be paying him over $30M when he is 32. that's ridiculous. he might be twice the player beverley is but he comes at 5 times the price (literally) for the next 3 years. that might be ok if we were just about to win the title next year and could sacrifice the future, but even if we rebuild quickly we're probably hoping for cap flexibility next offseason to sign someone or in 2 or 3 years to keep people.

Harden has hogged the ball-- except, sometimes, in the last second of the shot clock-- and I don't say that as criticism. I mean, which bricklayer would he defer to? So there's no question he'd prefer to play alongside better teammates. It's just I wonder if he can adapt to playing without the ball in MDA's system, with Conley or some other PG handling more. Hope so! Or maybe MDA will use Harden as the PG on offense... It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

We might be at the point where you have to overpay for talent...we need talent to be competitive and keep james healthy.

without dwight, as presently constructed, we are a bottom 4 team in the west.

As Morey suggested during his 790 interview yesterday. Fans will need to stop worrying about the salary figures.

I disagree my friend. I think MIKE CONLEY IS IDEAL for the Rockets.

He was playing in a system that's totally different from what the Rockets plan on doing this year. That system mades him seem like a ball heavy guard. However, I think he will easily be able to make the transition to the Rockets because he can
    - definitely run the pick and roll,
    - can knock down the standstill catch and shoot 3,
    - can come off back screens and make the catch and shoot 3,
    - makes defender pay if the go below the screen
    - can bring up the ball, probe D and pent rate and finish
    - can defer to Harden once he brings up the ball
    - plays defense.

I think great thing about him is that since R. Alston we haven't had a guy that could actually dribble the ball w/of T/O under pressure. Conley not only has great handles, but he can knock down the long ball.

if you cant make Conley fit in your offense than you deserve not to be a contending team.. You have to find a way to make it work,.. Harden has to understand that.. If he wants to win big, than you have to me able to mesh with players that have similar talent.. He needs to be willing to allow Conley or whatever great PG to take over the offense.. things will become so much simplier for him if he allows this. he has played with Westbrook, he has also played in the USA team, which i doubt he was the main ball handler..

Out of them plus Memphis & Dallas, Houston has the best assets to offer for a long term deal

Sorry but Dallas is getting to old and not really transitioning well as dirk is walking out the door
