If we are in win now mode: 1). Rondo $15 mil 2). Parsons $15 mil 3). Marvin Williams $15 mil 4). DMo $12 mil Then trade Bev, Brew, Ariza, young talent and picks for a big piece and we might just be on our way. Who knows.
Thon is a 4 though... which is why they cut JO'B (makes sense to me - even if Thon sux he can't be worse than Johnny)
Y'all need to quit that Parsons stuff Back problems, hamstring problems, knee problems..not a coincidence all three happened...shows he has issues with his leg mechanics. That stuff doesn't fix itself..it just snowballs
Well, I was being somewhat sarcastic with all the questions regarding Thon being taken that high, but who knows why Inglis was cut. I read that he was a bit of a headcase/lazy (is that true?).
The case for Rondo: He average 12/12 with a couple of steals and 6 boards per 36 min last year. He's one of the active leaders in triple doubles; big time gamer, tough nosed defender; capable of taking over games, now two full years removed from the knee injury. He's a much improved 3 pt shooter averaging about 36% the last two years. And he can probably be had for a value in this over inflated market. If we are trying to win now, Rondo would be an excellent add in this free agent market.
I read that Terry was against Rondo at the time he was rumored about being trade to us, it's possible that our guys have the same opinion now ?
A ball dominating floor general pg calling plays vs harden dominating the ball like he has the last few years? Will work if rockets run a real offense
Well that would make a lot of sense then. Maybe they want to bring a new work ethic in this season and see him holding them back. I guess he is 3rd or 4th wing for them, so not a major loss and a positive statement about what they are on about (if that's the case!)
He wants to play in New York. It's crazy no rumor about the rockets linked to anybody even now Ryan freaking Anderson is linked to the Wizards.
That's why I'm thinking trades is the best way to go. Then clean up the left overs after the first wave of FA.
The hastily made "Kick the Can" Plan -Do not bring back Dmo / Jones, so we start with 45.6m in salary, leaving us with 48.3m in cap space. 1.) Use the Stretch Provision on Corey Brewer, lowering his cap hit to 2.8m, freeing up an additional 5 million, to 53m. 2.) Sign Mike Conley to a 4 year max deal. 3.) Sign Dwayne Wade to a one year 25m dollar deal. 4.) Trade Ariza / KJ to Chicago for Taj Gibson / Dunleavy Jr. 5.) Sign Chinanu to a standard 2nd round pick deal. 6.) Sign Gentile to a standard 2nd round pick deal. Conley / Beverley Wade / MDjr Harden / Dekker / Gentile Gibson / Harrell Capella / Chinanu Makes a competitive team and frees up 65m+ for 2017 offseason.
I have a hard time believing it's possible to land Conley and Wade, but it's a very well thought out scenario.
Damn it's come to this with Brewer? Does the player get a say in whether he gets stretched? I thought that provision was reserved for those older vets or injured players on large contracts.
Why would Chicago want Ariza if they are going younger and faster? Why would Wade sign with Houston when he plays the same position as Harden and is the polar opposite of the type of player MDA wants? If you're able to sign Conley, rolling with Conley/Harden/Ariza/DMO/Capela would be interesting enough.
