I'd love to see Hoyt join the bullpen sometime this year. Then again, CF may burn to the ground if he has a poor first appearance.
too good of an arm to be allowing so many runners on, even the error was a line drive (then again, is trout best player in baseball). Well, Gregerson in the 8th, score 2 more runs and lets see Sipp in the 9th
The Angels got 36,683 people to come to a Wednesday afternoon game. No wonder their payroll is $170M.
Neshek, if used right, has great value. I would use him as a guy to just get out right handed hitters in big situations. He has been fairly dominant vs right handers I think we see Hoyt if we have an injury, or trade one of the starters/Feldman in some kind of a deal
Only a half game back of Boston and Toronto for the 1st WC spot if we hang on (and Toronto hangs on). Boston lost, but looks like Toronto & Baltimore will win. David Price continues his Keuchel-esque struggles, despite striking out 10. Keep thinking Baltimore will be the weak link of the 3, but they keep winning.
Totally agree on Neshek. Didn't think about trading a starter, but I guess with Devenski/Feliz/Feldman/Fiers/Fister you could afford to lose one, but for what? I just don't see them trading for anyone useful in-season unless it's a bigtime starter, then all bets are off.
Lot of empty seats out there for that paid attendance. I wonder if they just have corporate sponsors buying an obscene number of tickets.
WE GOT HINCHED. Like i said before, 1 inning ago, leading in the 7th, you play your defense, move Marwin to 1st and Rasmus to LF. Thank you Hinch.
I could see us trading Feliz. I really like him, and I'm sure the FO does as well. His trade value is probably higher than the rest, and I could see Luhnow and co. wanting to cash in. That said, our chemistry looks really good, and the FO needs to consider that aspect before shaking up the roster.
The question is how good Hoyt will be. Unfortunately we don't know and that risk is probably why we don't make a move like that. Neshek definitely has value, but his awfulness against LHB is difficult to swallow.
