That fly ball to Gattis was ugly, lol

Good zero for K after Altuve was unable to get the double play. The throw by Correa was low, but should had made it. Good job by K not giving to Trout and make Pujols beat you

Not saying the play was easy... just that it was inherently easier with Pujols running.

They had another one on Monday that should have been turned. Combine that with Pujols getting a SB last night, and I'm just annoyed that his (lack of) speed is not being exploited.

So... the Angels decision to trade the far and away best player in baseball is going to come down to them splitting hairs over the marginal difference in ages among a group of 21-23-year olds? And you thought *my* post was worthy of a triple LULZ???

All things being equal, yeah - maybe age takes the day. But things are *not* equal: all three of those shortstops - shortstops - are, right now, better players than Carlos Correa.

I don't recall the specific play, but I do remember it happening. And the SB was absolutely unacceptable. He's smart that way...doing things Bags still did at the end of his career. Don't pay attention at all on the bases, and he'll take off super early

Correa and Springer may not have all-stars but saying they are a "bundle of "might"s, "could be"s, "if healthy"s..." is just as misleading.

WAR is very additive. Correa/Springer/McCullers add up to 5.7 WAR to Trout's 4.7 this season. Last season it was 9.8 to 9.0. Easily this would be too much as Astros have youth to improve.

For "just" Correa and Springer and Springer, it is 11.4 to 13.7 over last two years. Considering the costs, this looks very close to a toss up (slight edge to Trout) assuming no could be, what ifs. I'd take Trout knowing probably giving up some value for more certainty, but also knowing it allows Astros to play Bregman at SS.

Damn, would have been an incredible catch by Marisnick... but he had a shot at it.

EDIT: N/m... he had no shot at it...

I think Hey Now is correct with what he says, now, are the Astros better off if they make that trade? I don't think we are, but Trout is so good that only way he is traded is getting that amout of value in return.
Thats why is very difficult to trade a guy like Trout

Keuchel needs to keep it close and the Stros need to tee-the-hell off on this puss that Weaver is serving up.

    Game on.

Keuchel is one of those pitchers this year you have to score a lot of runs for. He can't be trusted in close games for the most part.

I thought Lincecum's stuff was more pus-like last night... despite the K's, hitters had no problem identifying what was a ball and a strike.

Defense is always spotty with Keuchel on the mound...
