I'm not watching the rest of this season but will give it another shot next season just because previous seasons were so good. I don't think it will be crying wolf. Anyone remember Mean Jerk Time?
I was critical of the show then I realized what it was - a comedy. Yes, in three seasons the plot has gone no where and the storylines are predictable formulas but the dialogue between the characters is what pulls me back in. It's stupid, it's a time waster, it's funny. I hate Richard but everyone is hilarious. I'm glad Raviga is gone. Laurie was f-ing annoying.
I'm a bit confused. At which point did Richard lose all his shares of Piped Piper that he gets no money from a forced sell? I mean I can understand he screwed up assigning board seats, which led to him being removed as CEO. But I don't recall any actually shares being sold outside of Erlich dumping his to Raviga. Same with the Dinesh and Gilfoyle.
The VC gets paid back first. Supposed a company is worth 1 million, the VC decides to invest a million so the new company is worth 2 million and VC owns 50%. However supposed when the company is sold it is only worth a million so the VC will get paid back its one million before any other owner is paid back. So the entire 1 million goes to the VC and other other guys get 0. The VC gets the upside of a stock and down side protection of a bond.
Lulz at pouhe writing a capstone for no reason. To the folks complaining that they never win - I think they will soon enough. It's just a slow play. Dinesh will be in a ridiculous exotic car soon enough and y'all can complain about that instead.
Are you trying to say they already have the shark? If so, where is the proof? What episode, scene, and time did this alleged "shark" appear in?!
Why not? They recognized that a certain plot-line wasn't going anywhere, and they changed it. They recognize that as soon as they make it big, the show is basically done.... that being said, they can only continue to keep knocking them off the pedestal so many times before it becomes stale. Also shows that they won't keep trying to churn out episodes when they know the quality is sub-par.
Because they basically admitted they winged it for the rest of the season when that fell through. Which, doesn't surprise me considering essentially nothing happened for the last 3 episodes. Plus the fact that they think Laurie or whatever is actually an interesting as well as necessary character... I realize the gentleman that passed away the first season left them scrambling, but she's awful. They should have found a decent replacement by now 2 full seasons later.
But she's the yada-yada girl from Seinfeld! She's clearly just being robotic for the part. (I agree her character was awful. Need more Russ or new unique characters that nailed it like he did) I would rather them abandon plot devices due to ineffectiveness vs forcing it. Overall, this was their best season but didn't feature the highs of the past two season finales.
From the article How many seasons can the show run for? I don’t know. The massive challenge of doing this show is I think it functions when these guys are outsiders. And I don’t know if these guys actually start to really win, if this show is as compelling. On “Entourage,” Vinny could get the big movie and get $10 million and they could go buy Ferraris, and that was voyeuristic and fun. But I think if these guys end up becoming the next Google, my fear is that the show is sort of over. So the real, existential question is how can we keep finding interesting ways to keep them away from the finish line? Or does it just become like Lucy and the football, and you just become annoyed and like, “If these guys can’t figure it out by now they’re just stupid and I’ve lost interest.” He summed up my feelings very well.
Could be, I got the impression she was trying to emulate Peter Gregory (Christopher Welch link) since they already had the entire season ready before he passed away. She's like the exact same character to me, except she does it incredibly poorly. He was awkwardly funny, she's just awkward.
I care a little about the plot...but I care more about the comedy that takes place in pretty much every scene. Best lines on TV.
